MY FRIENDS, OUR SAVIOR CALLS, ARE YOU LISTENING?
“The matchless love of God for a world that did not love Him! The thought has a subduing power upon the soul and brings the mind into captivity to the will of God. The more we study the divine character in the light of the cross, the more we see mercy, tenderness, and forgiveness blended with equity and justice, and the more clearly we discern innumerable evidences of a love that is infinite and a tender pity surpassing a mother’s yearning sympathy for her wayward child” (Steps to Christ, p. 15).
My friends, we are a few day’s from the beginning of a new year, 2015. Now, let us all take a look at self and ask, am I a chosen vessel, “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, [one of] God’s own special people, [who will] proclaim the praises of Him who called [me] out of darkness into His marvelous light;” 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
And if you are, then you must remember you have a commission from God that says “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
And as faithful servants of God we must consider it a honor and privilege, because the same commission has also been given to his holy angels who stand before the throne of God and serve him day and night.
John tell us, I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” Rev 14:6-7 (NKJV)
And if we believe that our road-map to God’s kingdom is God’s Word, then we as His chosen, must also believe, there is only one everlasting gospel and one “name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (NKJV)
My friends somehow in our own unique way under the direction of God’s Spirit, we must proclaim the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ the one who “made heaven and earth” In addition, we can no longer be “ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Rom 1:16 (NKJV)
Consistent with this, we are at that point in prophecy, the point that has taken 6,000 years to get too, the point where even the one who has said, I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” Will “confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Isaiah 14:14, Philippians 2:10-11 (ESV)
This is the point our Savior has been leading His faithful, at the very threshold of the promise land and now we cannot deviate from where our savior has brought us, we cannot go into 2015 with selfish ambitions, thoughts of what self must accomplish and gain, it must be all about God and what his desire is for finishing up His mandate here on earth.
So today we are empty vessels, But we must be willing to keep listening and looking for what Christ is asking in the noise and chaos of our world, listening for that quiet voice that we can only here when we are in the very presence of God and then we can make it personal.
As we tell our savior, “Today, I need You Just to get through” and “If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people,” Exodus 33:13 (NIV) and I am your vessel, to serve until I can see your face and hear you say “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Matt. 25:21 (NKJV)
So my friends today. Stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY
