MY FRIENDS, IMAGINE THE ENDING AND THE JOURNEY IS OVER!!!
Let’s first start at the beginning, starting in the upper room where He laid aside His royal crown and robe, girded Himself, and performed a servant’s duty. Then to the garden of Gethsemane, where He is “Now numbered with the transgressors, the guilt of fallen humanity He must bear.
Upon Him who knew no sin must be laid the iniquity of us all. So dreadful does sin appear to Him, so great is the weight of guilt which He must bear, that He is tempted to fear it will shut Him out forever from His Father’s love.” (E. G. White Desire of Ages)
And then the betrayal by one of His own for a mere 30 pieces of silver. The scrutiny before Annas the officiating priestly family, and then through the Court of Caiaphas the High Priest as he was asked ” “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”
Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Matt. 26: 63-64 (NKJV) with that statement, charges of claiming to be God were brought before him.
He is now humiliated and “brought as a lamb to the slaughter,” as He is lead through the roman halls of justice as the Jewish rabble rang out Crucify Him, Crucify him, He is then scourged, clothed in a purple robe, and a crown of thorns, placed on His Head as the rabble continues too taunt and salute Him, Hail, King of the Jews.
Oh what sorrow He felt, as Creator of the universe being escorted down The Via Dolorosa, carrying His cross to Calvary to die for the sins of all humanity.
As He hung on the cross “Suddenly the gloom lifted from the cross and in clear, trumpet like tones that seemed to resound throughout creation, Jesus cried, “It is finished.” “Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit.” A light encircled the cross, and the face of the Savior shone with a glory like the sun. He then bowed His head upon His breast, and died. (E. G. White)
My friends, how far did those out stretched arms reach to rescue each of us today? How deep in sin had we gone when He pulled us to the shores of safety into His loving arms? And how long had he pleaded with us before we heard His voice say.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest? Matt.11:28 (KJV) My friends, we are all familiar with the path Jesus walked to save us. Now it is our responsibility to go out and tell the world the good news of a risen Savior that will return soon for His faithful children who have endured.
Yes my friends, with salvation comes the endurance of the many mountains we had to climb, the trials, tribulations and heartaches while attending funeral, after funeral of those we loved. In addition, wars, death, destruction, pestilence in a world where iniquity of man has abounded to astronomical levels, where their love for one another continued to wax colder and colder.
Now my friends, imagine the ending, the Journey is over and by the grace of God we now stand with all the elect who were “safe to save” heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; who carried our cross and suffered with him, we will now be glorified together with him.”
Look my friends “the dead in Christ have just risen.” “We who are alive will now be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” And in unison we all shout “Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: as we will forever be glad and rejoice in his salvation.” Isaiah 25:9 (KJV) throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.
So my friends today. Stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY
