MY FRIENDS, WILL OUR ANCHOR HOLD?

“I have journeyed through the long dark night, out on the open sea, by faith alone, sight unknown; and yet His eyes were watching me. The anchor holds, Though the ships been battered. The anchor holds, Though the sails are torn. I have fallen on my knees as I face the raging seas. The anchor holds in spite of the storm.” (Ray Boltz, The Anchor Holds) My friends, the anchor is our dedicated prayer life.

The anchor is also God’s word and Spirit that strengthens our faith daily. But, it is not the weight of the anchor, but the sturdy iron cables connected to the anchor that secures our mind and body to the mind and body of Christ which keeps us steadfast unmovable always abounding in the Lord even in the rough turbulent storms brought on by the god of this world.

My friends, “when there is no special effort made to resist [Satan’s] power, he becomes unconcerned; for he is in no danger of losing those whom he is leading captive at his will. But when the attention is called to eternal things, and souls are inquiring, “What must I do to be saved?” [and the anchor holds.] He is on the ground, seeking to match his power against the power of Christ and to counteract the influence of the Holy Spirit.” (E.G. White, The Great Controversy)

My friends, it’s personal, because it’s you and I that is “sinking deep in sin,” far from Christ abiding love. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!……… And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people lest you share in her sins.” Rev. 18:1-4 (NKJV)

My friends, we must ask ourselves, will our anchor hold in Babylon? Remember we are in the middle of the dwelling place of demons, principalities, and the rulers of the darkness of this world, and the spiritual wickedness in high places.” This world is also the prison for every foul spirit, and cage for every unclean and hated bird!

And, what we must understand, sin will never leave this prison called earth. This is sin’s last destination before total annihilation a choice one third of the angels decided when they followed the one who said in his heart “I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” Is. 14:14 (NIV)

But, if our anchor holds through Gods word and Spirit, you and I will leave this prison one day soon and live in a place eye have not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Cor. 2:9 (KJV)

But first, John 9:4-5 (AMP) tells us that “we must work the works of Him, who [has commissioned His children to go into all the world and present the good news of the gospel to all who are still asking “what must I do to be saved.” WHILE IT IS DAY; [because as we look at prophecy and our world today, there should be no doubt that] night is coming [soon] when no one can work. [But, as long as God has given us daylight our anchors will hold as we become Christ Light barriers to the world.”
