MY FRIENDS, WOULD WE STILL LOVE GOD IF HEAVEN WAS NEVER PROMISED?
“It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit, and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:21-22 (NKJV) My friends, knowledge brings on responsibility. It’s personal because you and I are accountable for our own actions.
We may continue to sin because there are commandments that we find are just not conducive to our life style. So we return to the moral filth and impurities of this world while ignoring our responsibility to the one who gave it all for our Salvation. So our commitment to God was never genuine. When we had found that pearl of great price, we did not sell all we had to purchase it. For if we would have given our all and felt the presence of the one who gave it all for us we would have realized, there was nothing in this world to go back too that could compare to Jesus Christ.
My friends, What I can tell you about myself and hope you feel the same, “if heaven had never been promised to me,” all the trials and tribulation I’ve gone through in this life was worth it “just having the Lord in my life.” And to feel His presence daily and knowing He loved me so much that He gave it all up, even His life for my salvation. And until we recognize what it means to Have Christ in our life, “sin and the wages of sin which is death” will always seem more appealing than giving it all to the Master.
As Christians we sometimes try and live in our own strength as we rationalize within our minds why we cannot give our all to Christ. So with that attitude, Satan now has rendered us powerless, and weak. But today our Savior needs you to reevaluate your commitment and proclaim His name to the world while grace still abounds. If you are a Child of God you have realized by now that Satan has taken the world by storm.
And most are not prepared for the god of this worlds tactics of chaos and destruction as he recruits a team of false prophets who are claiming to be in the inner circle of Christ. And just by their unique charismatic persona they are telling their followers, follow me, “I am the way the truth and the life.” But as God’s chosen, We must study and we must know the scriptures for ourselves.
And we cannot hide the treasures of God we have learned in His word as we tell the world that “Christ Himself is the only pearl of great price. “Every page of the Holy Scriptures shines with His light. The righteousness of Christ, as a pure, white pearl, has no defect, no stain. No work of man can improve the great and precious gift of God. It is without a flaw. In Christ are “hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:3.
He is “made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” 1 Corinthians 1:30. All that can satisfy the needs and longings of the human soul, for this world and for the world to come, is found in Christ. Our Redeemer is the pearl so precious that in comparison all things else may be accounted loss.” (E. G. White Christ’s Object Lessons, chapter 9, page 115)
