MY FRIENDS, IS IT POSSIBLE TO FIT GOD INTO OUR SCHEDULE TODAY?
The foolish rhetoric of our do nothing, politicians as they sit, while the basic rights and needs of all the people they are supposed to be helping continues to move below the poverty line is appalling, to say the least.
As I look at the direction our country and the world is headed soon my friends we will all be reduced to a two class system, the have and the have not’s “A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.” (Martin Luther King Jr.).
In the days of Amos, God says” “Hear this, oh you who would swallow up and trample down the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail and come to an end,” Amos 1:4 (AMP) Sounds familiar, if not let me explain.
We now live in a nation that is led by the god of this world, whose main purpose is to bring the less fortunate down to such a low poverty level, that they will never be able to pull themselves back up, thus causing them to lose all hope.
So as a child of God, it is our responsibility to show them there is hope through Christ and the way we respond with love, to their basic needs. “In a real sense all life is inter-related. All men are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.
Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be, and you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be…” (Martin Luther King Jr.)
As Christians who seeks citizenship in God’s kingdom, we must individualized our stance and compassion for others as Christ did, it must become personal, It must be an individual heartfelt concern from within that only comes about by walking with Christ daily.
In addition, because of that close relationship, it gives us the capacity to love everyone, as Christ loved. But, if we go about business as usual while those less fortunate suffer, we then have decided in our heart “To accept passively an unjust system……thereby the oppressed become as evil as the oppressor”. (Martin Luther King Jr.)
Consistent with this, we then become contributors to the negative element that is causing our world to spiral out on control as “iniquity abounds, and the love of many wax cold”
In God’s word The rich young ruler kept all of God’s precepts, And he said to Jesus, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.” Mark 10:20-22 (NKJV) It takes a village originated with the teachings of Jesus. But the village must be an environment in which families and individuals are supported and strengthened by each of us whose goal it is to walk the same path as Christ walked to Calvary.
Today my friends I don’t speak to the world who’s “mind is set on things on the earth, and not on things above, or to the “fool who says in his heart, “There is no God.” But I speak to the Christian whose destiny is Gods pure and holy kingdom.
The bible maintains a clear position on the poor throughout its pages, and, interestingly, it has less to do with them than it has to do with us and how we treat the poor. Today Ask yourself how can I as a Christian keep from “conforming to the pattern of this world.
And how can I transform my mind, and character as I carry out Gods will in my life as His light shines through me to others. My friends are we ready to say “Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him,” or do we say in our heart, LORD I JUST CAN’T FIT YOU INTO MY SCHEDULE TODAY
So my friends today. Stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY
