MY FRIENDS, GOD HAS GIVEN UNTO THINE HAND A VICTORY THAT WILL LEAD HIS FAITHFUL INTO THE PROMISE LAND

“Our help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow our foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is our keeper, The Lord is our shade at our right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve our soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.” Ps. 121 2:8 (NKJV)

Let’go back to the Israelite’s where they are at the threshold of the promise land for the second time. The only thing that stands between the multitude and their final destination of God’s promises was the High walls of Jericho.

But God’s plan then and forty years earlier was to fight this battle for them. All they had to do was “trust and obey” and endure to the end. “And the Lord said unto Joshua, “See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor.” Joshua 6:2 (ESV)

God then begins to lay out a battle plan for success, one that Israel could not deviate from. He tells Joshua to march around the city one time in six days, but “on the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.

And……when you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down flat,.” Joshua 6:4-5 (ESV) My friends suppose Joshua had decided that Israel would march around Jericho only five days instead of six.

Or maybe the people would not have to shout, or the priest would not have to blow their trumpets on the seventh day. My friends God’s plan or promises never changes, even after forty years, only Israel’s faith and their wiliness to do God’s will changed.

Consistent with this, their faith was tested and it required work. They had a responsibility in conjunction with God and what was required for them to enter the promise land. The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of [our] lives.” Ps 37:23 (NKJV) But only, If we believe and endure.

“And the lord said unto Joshua, see, I have given unto thine hand Jericho.” did you notice God did not say I will give you Jericho. He told Joshua I have given unto thine hand a victory that will lead you into the promise land.

My friends, it took Israel forty years to realized “that the battle all along, was not there’s it was the lord’s” He will fight it for us, and together we become conquerors. Yes the battle is the Lords but it must be all about Him, and that can only happen when we make the decision to die to self  and give it all to the Master.

And then He can tell us I have given unto thine hand life eternal. Yes my friends, the plan for our life was established on Calvary when He said it is finish. Our Savior also tells us to be “confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Phil. 1:6 (NIV)

But it becomes our decisions, the Spirit of God will never force us to make the right decision that leads to life eternal. But friends, if we have not built up a resistance through God’s word and Spirit, the god of this world will make the decision for us and remember “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:2:23 (NIV)

My friends soon we want have to say “Lord how long” because soon He will be appearing, through the clouds above to come and “give to each according to their works.”

So my friends today. Stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY
