MY FRIENDS, UNDER THE WEIGHT OF IT ALL CAN WE STILL SERVE?

At times it becomes very personal as I focus on my journey. So Today I need my friends to make it personal also and with a sincere and contrite heart Moses and the Burning Bushprepare to have a conversation with God, as we tell Him how badly we need Him to get us through today. In addition, we also feel we are breaking under the weight of it all and we are afraid we might fall and become unable to get up. So we feel empty but still willing to keep listening for that still small voice and looking for Him in the midst of the noise to hear if He is telling us to go?

Or telling us to stay? Or are You telling us to hold on to You for just one more day? (Mandisa, Where You Begin Paraphrased) My friends, this journey and the weight of it all takes its toll at times. Like “Moses who was at Horeb, the mountain of God tending His Father-in-laws sheep when a Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire….And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses!” Ex. 3:1-4 (NKJV)

What a journey for Moses, from a child of parents held in bondage by the Egyptians, to being raised in the royal courts by Pharaoh’s daughter to beingimgres11 a fugitive on the run for murder and now Moses is eighty years old and I can only imagine He is also having a conversation with God feeling he is also breaking under the weight of it all. But still willing to keep listening until he hears from God.

And it is at this point God knows He can use Moses, because God is “long-suffering, not willing that any should perish but that all should repent” Before we can fully fulfill His plans for our life. So He tells Moses “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, “and have heard their cry….and now I want to bring them to a land flowing with milk and honey.” Ex. 3:7-8 (NKJV)

My friends, we cannot be ashamed of the good news of the Gospel. Under the weight of it all God’s grace is sufficient to carry any and all burdens we may have that keeps us from finishing this journey. We must also understand Gods voice is getting faint because He knows we are not listening in the midst of the noise of Satan and the things of this world.

HereIamSo what God sees in our heart is our willingness to stay luke warm and complacent about His end time prophecy and how close we are to His second coming. Consistent with this He hears the cry of His Children who feel they have no hope from the oppression of this world. He also sees that the “vineyard is plentiful.”

And even though there are no more Noah’s or Moses or Elijah’s or Rahab’s or David’s or Daniels or Peters or Mary Magdalene’s or Paul’s around, “the rocks will cry our if need be. But if there are a few who are willing to “foesake all others.” Like Moses, He needs faithful leaders who are willing to lead the children of God  to the promise land. That land no “eye have seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Cor. 2:9 (NKJV)

MY FRIENDS, IS MR. TRUMP CAPABLE OF REAL CHANGE?

kkChange, is what we are incapable of because it would involved a “Spiritual transformation, and a restructuring of our lives around revival, renovation and restoration. Which is Humanly impossible “but with God all things are possible.” Matt 19:26 (KJV) So as we travel on our Journey to the promise land, we must admit not to ourselves but to God that a change must take place in our lives and we are unqualified to make it happen. So even if Mr Trump would ever say I will Change, if you listen closely, IT IS PROBABLY SELF IMPLYING THE CHANGE?

For all of us spiritual elects. 2 Cor. 5:17 (paraphrased) Paul tells us “if anyone is in Christ, that is, grafted and joined to Him by faith in Him as Lord and Savior, we then become a new creature who is reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit and the previous unethical and immoral condition in our life have passed away. And new things have come about because a spiritual awakening brings changes and a new life.”

In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians which should be every Americans heartfelt prayer as we listen to the rhetoric of Trump “that the God of our Lord galatians-2-20-die-to-self-live-to-christ_1134447003Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you [and I] the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of our understanding being enlightened; that [we] may know what is the hope of His calling…..” Eph. 1:16-18 (KJV)

My friends, that text is telling each of us to pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation and discernment in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. And no mater what party you are affiliated with if you feel Trump is a leader, one who fosters change and a shared vision and the development of a community whether you are black or white, Christian or Muslims, Catholics or Jews, then we ourselves have a lot of soul searching as to our ability to understand real change.

The beauty and Character of Christ, are “love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” that is what the world must see in us as leaders. And then you have Change which is defined as “something different from what it is or from what it would be if left alone.” so self and change must co-exist as one in the context of our salvation. And in-order for that to happen as leaders, self cannot be responsible for telling us what it takes for self to die and for our life to only exist through Christ. Only the Spirit of God can.

So the only thing that should be changeless, is our Passion of Christ in our lives. And with a contrite heart it can never be our will but the will of God imgresas we move out on the front lines of the battle field seeking souls that “are sinking deep in sin, Far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, Sinking to rise no more.” But as ambassadors for the Master we “hear their despairing cry, and From the murky waters of sin” we lift them up and give them hope and change through Christ and a shared vision of a “new heaven and a new earth.”

My friends, change brought about by the Spirit gives us direct access to the presence of God and “though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen [will change], but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Cor. 4:16-18 (KJV)

MY FRIENDS, EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM BUT ARE WE READY?

urlSaint Louis in 1984, there an unemployed cleaning woman noticed a few bees buzzing around the attic of her home. Since there were only a few, she made no effort to deal with them. Over the summer the bees continued to fly in and out the attic vent while the woman remained unconcerned, unaware of the growing city of bees. The whole attic became a hive, and the ceiling of the second-floor bedroom finally caved in under the weight of hundreds of pounds of honey and thousands of angry bees.” (Robert T. Wenz.)

My friends, our “Socially Acceptable Sins” along with all of the wasted time talents and money “which so easily and cleverly entangles us” into serving other gods, we are caving in under the weight of it all. But, grace still abounds while at the same time God is telling us to “come out of Babylon” because our season of probation is just about up. And like in the days of Noah grace has just about run its course and now God is saying “My Spirit shall not strive with man much longer.”

My friends, God is not asleep “He sees that the wickedness of man [is] great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [is] bd2b87030f2490440a8834328cf4912fonly evil continually” Gen. 6:5-7 (ASV) And soon He will “divide His sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left……to those on His right hand, He will say, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world………. “

And those on the left hand He will say, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:” Matt 25:32-41 (NKJV) Today, we must decide where is our final destination or time will decide it for us. Either this earth remains our home or we are pilgrims in a foreign land who seeks another destination, God’s kingdom. “Noah did not mix the soft, pleasing deceptions of Satan with his message.

He did not utter the sentiment of many of his day [and ours] who declared that God was too merciful to do such a terrible work. many asserted that God would grant the wicked another season of probation; but Noah did not indulge them in the faintest hope that those who neglected the present opportunity, who rejected the present message, would be favored with another opportunity of salvation.” (E. G. White Sings of the Times April 18, 1895)

Its personal, because God is preparing you and I for what we are not quite ready to face when that day of “tribulation” comes. And there will be no favored believers being translated to meet Christ from this Earth before that “day such has not been since the beginning of the world.” Some even believe those left behind will have an additional thousand years to get it right and then life eternal.

Second-Coming-of-Jesus_iconBut Christ says “Behold, He cometh, and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him.” Every eye means all must be ready to receive Him at the same time and to believe anything else that is not in God’s word, is detrimental to our Salvation. My friends, we are living at the end time prophecy before Christ second coming and the “breaking news” tomorrow will be much worst then the “breaking news” today.

But “Take heed that no one deceives [us] or the harvest that Christ has entrusted to us,“ but, we must believe “Christ is coming quickly,” and every eye will see Him. “And His reward will be with Him, to render to everyone according to their” personal relationship with Him”

MY FRIENDS, CAN WE SAY WITH FULL ASSURANCE JESUS CHRIST IS OUR BEST FRIEND?

D14B372F96Jesus can be our best friend, if that is our sincere desire. In addition, getting to the threshold of the promise land is not enough, if He is not our friend. So imagine getting there and crying out “Lord Lord” I’m ready I have done all that you have ask of me in my probationary period while on earth. And then Christ responds, “do I know you”? But Lord, I have prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have I not cast out devils? and in thy name have I not done many wonderful works?”

And then the saddest words we will ever hear will be “by your fruits I should know you,” but I don’t, “so depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matt. 7:20-23 (NKJV Paraphrased) My friends, a personal relationship with Christ out weights any and all works we are doing for Christ because along with that personal relationship with Christ, comes that still small voice of God’s Spirit.

A voice we are only willing to listen to because Christ is our friend. A friend that loves us and informs us of all our sins “which doth so easily beset us.” images7So when that final day in the history of this world does come, Christ righteous friends, “will never be shaken; they will be remembered for ever. They will have no fear of bad news; because their hearts were steadfast, always trusting in the Lord their friend.

In addition, their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; [and] in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.” Psalm 112:6-8 (NIV) My friends, that text should tell us, if we have a personal relationship with Christ, we never have to fear hearing the words “I never knew you,” because God has not given us a spirit of fear “but a Spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind to [love and to serve Him.]” 2 Tim 1:7 (NKJV)

And because we have this power through His Spirit and word, Christ our friend is forever in our presence. He is also our “strength and our [impenetrable] shield; our heart trusts [with unwavering confidence] in Him, [and He has guided us every step of the way]; Therefore our hearts greatly rejoices, And with [a] new song we shall thank Him and praise Him [throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity] Ps 28:7 (AMP)

In addition, “we will be conquerors through him who loved us and was willing to die to keep our friendship. So that is why neither “death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, [must ever be] able to separate us from [that friendship and] the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 (NIV)

5a5739be8cb391fa5a9a7ded479de312The grace of God is gradually being withdrawn from our world, therefore a personal relationship with Christ and his word and His Spirit is our only option if our desire is God’s pure and holy kingdom and life eternal. So at this moment, if you took the time to read this devotional, please take the time to fall on your knees with a contrite heart.

And with that contrite heart, cry out, “Our Father which art in heaven” “not my will but thou will be done” not only today but every day, until I can see my best friend face to face and here Him say “Well done [my friend and] faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will [now] make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matt. 25:23 (KJV)

MY FRIENDS, THE TALE OF TWO KINGS WHICH ONE ARE WE?

images“And he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate….. And he said, “While the child was alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who can tell whether the Lord will be gracious to me.”As we look over our lives sometimes there are visible scars that indicate we have been in a war zone with the enemy. But only scars that will heal because God is gracious toward us “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)

David after His Sin of adultery, lies, and murder, God still reached as far as he had drifted away to make David’s “corruptible heart incorruptible and fit for immortality. But like David it is our choice to accept God’s invitation. The narrative starts in the eleventh chapter of 2 Samuel and ends in the twelfth chapter. After Nathan the prophet presents David’s sin before Him, his first words were “I have sinned against the Lord.”

And Nathan then says, “The Lord also has put away your sin;”2 Samuel 12:13 (NKJV) My friends its personal because I need each of us to understand ae3fb18b94efe89ebd597e95ff2aa5f4after David’s sin He did not confess and repent His sins until they were brought to His attention. So our focus must be on the time frame from when the man after God’s on heart committed this terrible abomination against God until God sent Nathan the Prophet to confront David about it? And what was taking place within his heart?

My friends, it was during this time that God was knocking at the door of David’s heart and with that still small voice saying “Come unto me, [if your sins have become a burden] and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matt. 11:28-30 (NKJV)

God knows our heart, He knew David had accepted His invitation to take control because He had Searched David thoroughly and He knew David would allow Him to make the necessary changes that would create within Him a pure heart.” And when David said “I have sinned against the Lord.” That was his open confession to the world because His sin had been done in the open.

maxresdefaultMy friends, we all have Choices to make as the Spirit of God pleads with us, and if we heed His invitation we then realize “we cannot serve two masters; for either we will hate the one and love the other, or else we will be loyal to the one and despise the other.”Matt. 6:24 (NKJV) Remember, the first king of Israel had this same opportunity but in the end Saul refused to heed God’s call for repentance so “Saul took a sword and fell on it.” 1 Sam. 31:5 (NKJV)

The tale of two kings, given the same opportunity to accept the pleading and promises of God and let Him enter their heart. for every action of of the darkness of this world, there must be an overpowering and opposite reaction that says I surrender it all to the King of Kings as we allow the shackles of sin that has our heart in bondage to the god of this world to be broken for “wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who will go in by it. But for those few who still seek Gods presence and life eternal the road is narrow “So walk yea in it.”

MY FRIENDS, HAVE WE ALLOWED GOD TO SEARCH US THROUGH AND THROUGH?

imgres“Come and make my heart Your home. Come and be everything I am and all I know as You Search me through and through until my heart becomes a home for You. Let everything I do open up a door For You to come through Then my heart would be a place where You want to be, Come and make my heart your home,” (Hillsong Kids, My Heart, Your Home) My friends, our only path to salvation is for Christ to “Search us through and through until our heart is His home.”

It’s personal because it is your heart and my heart that must ask God to Search us thoroughly, and make this “corruptible heart incorruptible, and this mortal heart fitted for immortality.” Remember He knows our heart; and our anxious thoughts; And He can see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in us, [and then through our faith and endurance] lead us through the paths of righteousness for His name sake!] Psalm 139:23-24 (AMP)

The word search is a verb that requires action and in the context of our salvation, we must seek Christ and ask Him daily to “Examine us…and prove us. Try our mind and 421517_391773197506640_100000218896468_1811150_489442730_nour heart. For His lovingkindness is before our eyes. So through our faith He must never stop “searching us through and through. And then when we have given it all to Him, He will “Create in us a pure heart, as He begins to renew a steadfast spirit within us” until our heart becomes a home where He can abide.

And with no reservation He will say to the “accuser of the brethren” I have searched them and “There is no one on earth like them;” for they are “men and women who fear the Lord and shuns evil”…… who will always stand for what is right though “the heavens and earth may pass away,” they will always focus on a risen Savior and His will for their lives.

Remember, it is God who will search our heart and choose those who are “safe to save,” it is God who will look at the entire journey of our life and see how we finished the course and determined if our faith was that of a mustard seed, able to say unto any mountain, “Move from here to there,’ and it move; [because we understood with God abiding in our heart daily, nothing was impossible for us to accomplish]” Matt 17:20 (NKJV)

In addition, all who are willing participants in this controversy between good and evil must understand the battle is being fought daily over our heart because Satan knows “Christ came to our world because He saw that we had lost the image and nature of God. He saw that we had wandered far from the path of peace and purity, and that, if left to ourselves, we would never find our way back.

imgres11He came with a full and complete salvation, to change our stony hearts to hearts of flesh, to change our sinful natures into His similitude, that, by being partakers of the divine nature, we might be fitted for the heavenly courts….” (E.G. White, From the Heart, P 259) So if Satan can keep our heart focused on the things of this world instead of having a personal relationship with Christ, he wins.

And no matter how long Christ will “stand at the door of our heart “and knock: we will never hear His voice, and open the door because we are too occupied with the things of this world and Satan’s offer we never refused. And that offer was, “[all these things of this world that are temporary] will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” Matt 4:9 (KJV)
