MY FRIENDS, MR. TRUMP SAYS HE CAN NOW BECOME UNSHACKLED!!

MY FRIENDS, MR. TRUMP SAYS HE CAN NOW BECOME UNSHACKLED!!

imgresDonald Trump’s says he will now become unhinged and unshackle, free to be himself since he has nothing to lose, and so many forces are against him and his journey to make America great again. Well as I hear Mr. Trump’s own words, “when you’re a star women will let you do anything,” sounds almost similar to his bosses rhetoric. “I will ascend to heaven:” and raise my throne, [Trump Towers] “above the stars of God” as I make America great again [Remenber I am a star] like the “Most High.”

My friends, Trump has made a mockery of God bless America, and in God we trust. He is bending, twisting and manipulating a culture that defines a set of non-ethical values that many fill very comfortable in living by, young and old alike. And we will now begin to see the real birth of a nation that is endowed by our creator and not God our true Creator but Donald Trump who feels he has certain unalienable Rights because he is a star.

And from where I sit it is a scary picture as “the whole world is filled with wonder and followed the beast [Donald Trump.]” What we are witnessinghi today I can only imagine, will go down someday as the greatest reality show ever conceived.” The concept is ingenious. It’s Western and European civilization and culture at it’s very best, which I’m sure they never thought one of their own would be the source that destroys life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, only a privilege few feel they are entitled too.

But as God’s children we seek “a better country, that is, a heavenly one, where God is not ashamed to be called our God” Heb. 11:16 (ESV) And my friends as we continue to die to self daily and seek God presence, we must continue to look to God for answers because we know the plans God has for us,…plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you and I a future and a hope”Jer 29:11 (ESV)

As we Go to John 9:38 (KJV) Christ had just restored a blind man’s sight who had been blind from birth and He says “I came so that all who are blind could see. And I came so that people who think they see would become blind.” Then some of the Pharisees ask (v, 39) Are we blind also? Mocking Christ and His words.

35759-I-Know-The-Plans-I-Have-For-YouChrist response gives us a sense of where we are on this journey He has placed us on today. “If you were really blind, you would not be guilty of sin. But you say that you see, so you are still guilty.” And as we put Christ words in the context of our on beliefs and what the world deems appropriate in God’s sight (v, 41) Christ tells us, if there had been no opportunity to receive enlightenment on the character of Mr. Trump.

“Truly, these times of ignorance God would have overlooked,…….” Acts 17:30 (KJV) But friends, God will judge the world on the basis of the light that we all have received or might have received if we would have put forth the effort to read and study God’s word because, “to the law and to the testimony, if [Trump] speaks not according to [God’s] word, it is because there is no [light in him].”Is. 8:20 (NIV)

Jesus now tells us, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains. But I pray like the Blind man that Christ healed, all of God’s children will tell the world “I don’t know why and how it happened. But I do know this: I was blind, and now I see. John 9:25 (KJV)

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE WORTHY, OF SUCH AN HONOR?

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE WORTHY, OF SUCH AN HONOR?

28152-cm-new-creation-2-Corinthians-5-17-socialThen I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

[And then] He will wipe every tear from the eyes of [all who endured till the end. In addition,] there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Rev. 21:1-5 (NIV) “A new heaven and a new earth.” “God’s dwelling place is now among the people.” “No more tears, sadness or death.”

My friends, tears will become “an object only by reason of its age or its association with the past” and we will have the privilege of having the one who made it alltears possible wipe away the last trace of all tears that so often filled our eyes and sometimes was the only thing that brought us relief through our trials and tribulation here on earth and after ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of years into eternity, no more my friends, no more.

And oh what a privilege to stand next to Steven the first Christian martyr, along with Paul and all the apostles, and John Wycliff, Huss, Jerome and all of the reformers who made a difference in this controversy along with millions of others who came through great tribulations and stayed focused. And our only defense will be, all for the glory of God we took up our cross and followed Christ even through “great tribulations.”

And now our robes will forever be “washed and made white with the blood of the Lamb.” My friends, as we look at the world on this journey Christ has placed us on, our finite minds are really unable to define great tribulation in regards to our salvation because it will be a time like no other so how do you define what has never happened in the history of our world.

My friends, it seems inconceivable today, but what we can define to a world that seeks hope, is a shared vision that says; “the garden, the jail, the hammer, the nail, how could a night be so long? “then came the morning that night turned into day and the stone was rolled away. Then hope rose with dawn, then came the morning, the shadows vanished before the sun because death had lost, and life had won [for the sun or Son had risen] for morning had come.” (Bill Gaither, Then Came The Morning)

carrying-the-cross-300x200My friends then came morning and now He lives and despite awareness of our own sinfulness and humanity, as we look at Calvary and our own “great tribulations” as we carry our own cross, the thought should overwhelm us in the fact that when we give it all to Christ, God sees us just as perfectly righteous as Christ.

The one “who was made lower than the angels for a little while. And suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.” And, “though He knew no sin, God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Cor. 5:21 (KJV) Heb. 2:9 (KJV) My friends are we worthy, of such an honor.

MY FRIENDS, TIME IS RUNNING OUT, THE THIEF IN THE NIGHT SCENARIO IS CLOSE!!

MY FRIENDS, TIME IS RUNNING OUT, THE THIEF IN THE NIGHT SCENARIO IS CLOSE!!

thiefinthenightWe can say without any reservation we are living in the last days of the history of this world. And since the fall of man God’s word has pointed to the end of this controversy between one class who studies our Savior’s life with a passion and seeks His presence while allowing the Spirit’s transforming power to change our Character into Christ image. And another class who has “allowed iniquity to abound,” and their “love to wax cold”

And God’s promise is, if His faithful stays focused and endure to the end, we will be saved.” Matt. 24:12-13 (NKJV) This promise my friends is not sobering for those who seek Christ second coming because prophecy ending and God’s kingdom and life eternal is closer than ever before as we look at the “breaking news” each day, never before has there been a time as we are witnessing in our society today. And getting the good news to a dying world we must all agree is urgent.

And my friends, “these are just the beginning of birth pains.” The controversy that begun in heaven when Satan “said in his heart, I will ascend into imgres1heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.” Is. 14:13-14 (ASV) To the fall of Adam, where at the point he could distinguish between good and evil. To “such a time as this,” will all end soon.

We are now entering that time in prophecy where “scoffers will come……, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4 (NKJV) Well to those scoffers all things have continued as they were from the beginning.

But the Lord will come as a thief in the night, and the scoffers and those who refused to allow the transforming power of Gods Spirit to take full control of their lives will fall, the powerful economic systems that have degraded the poor will fall, the strongly entrenched and popular religious leaders who did not follow God’s precepts in His word and influenced the masses against the Creator of the universe and His day of worship will fall.

And they will call to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! Rev. 6:16 (NIV) And they will get their wish for “the floodgates of the heavens [will] opened, [and] the foundations of the earth [will] shake. The earth [will] brake up [and then] split asunder [as it is] violently shaken [as it] reels like a drunkard.

blessed-hope-jesus-return-4_n1-300x198[And then it will begin to] sway like a hut in the wind; so heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion that it falls never to rise again. [Yes, my friends, God’s tolerance and cup of indignation is full and soon all mankind good and bad will recognize that Gods way has always been the right way from the beginning.]” Is. 24:19-20 (NIV) But the good news is all who believe “Jesus died and rose again, and have come [through great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.]

The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” Rev 7:14 (NIV), 1 Thess. 4:14-17 (NKJV)

MY FRIENDS THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP WHAT IS IT WORTH?

Oct. 12, 2016

MY FRIENDS THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP WHAT IS IT WORTH?

jesus-at-the-tableIn Luke 14:16-33 (NKJV) Christ tells a parable about “a certain man who gave a great supper and invited many. Then He sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ But they all with one accord began to make excuses.” One needed to go and see about some new real estate property he had just purchased, another his cattle farm, another had just gotten married and could not come at all. My friends, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb [and accepts His invitation]” Rev. 19:9 (ESV)

This invitation will go out to potential disciples, so there are stipulations. “If anyone comes to Me” must hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life” and then they can become Christ disciples, they must also bear their cross and [seek Him with a passion]. My friends “we cannot lightly assume the responsibility of discipleship” and what is required.

Christ tells us, which one of you will start to build a house without knowing if you have enough finances to lessons-from-parables-selling-all-for-kingdom-of-god-jpg-crop_displayfinish it. So Christ is telling us not to start this process of discipleship if we have no intentions of finishing. Christ needs us to stay focused on the journey and finishing the course He has planned for us here on this earth.

So the cost of discipleship must be our willingness to forsake our all. And our all is the “greatest possible” of what we can give our Savior which goes beyond a path or a treasured idea that to the entire world appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.” And our all, in the end, may even be our life. So my friends the cost of discipleship and life eternal is it worth the cost.

It was to the “merchant who was seeking a beautiful pearl, who, when he had found one of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it [because no price was too great to obtain that pearl of great worth] Matt 13:45-46 (NKJV) The martyr John Huss, “when asked to recant his errors said “what errors, shall I renounce”? [My friends. He had found that pearl of great worth so nothing was going to get Him to relinquished it, not even His life.]

So he cries out. I know myself guilty of none. I call God to witness that all that I have written and preached has been with the view of rescuing souls from sin and perdition; and, therefore, most joyfully will I confirm with my blood that truth which I have written and preached. He then began to sing, “Jesus, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” And so he continued till his voice was silenced forever [in the flames.]” (E.G. White, The Great Controversy)

maxresdefaultThe cost of discipleship is high and we must remember “wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who [will] go in by it.” but to be a disciple of Christ and take up our cross as we eliminate self, along with all preconceived notions of what we thought was a straight path to Gods kingdom, for narrow is that gate and difficult is the way which leads to life eternal.

And there are few who will find it or are willing to seek until they have found it’s worth] Matt 7:13-14 (NKJV paraphrased) Friends if we seek God’s kingdom, we must continue until we have crossed the threshold into the promise land and our savior tells us personally, “Well done, good and faithful servant!…. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matt. 25:23 (NIV)

MY FRIENDS, BENEATH THE CROSS, IS WHERE WE SHOULD BEGIN!!

Oct. 11, 2016

MY FRIENDS, BENEATH THE CROSS, IS WHERE WE SHOULD BEGIN!!

D14B372F96“The cross, and beneath the cross is the rightful place of all who dare to call themselves Christians, [Because] that is the place where [faith, endurance, hope] mercy, forgiveness, and good will [towards all] are dominant.” (Joseph H, Jackson, Unholy Shadow and Freedoms Holy Light p. 45) In addition, beneath the Cross also allows each of us as a child of God to say without any reservation, I am war weary and utterly exhausted and depressed by this controversy between good and evil from within, especially after such a prolonged conflict with the principalities.

And with the powers and the rulers of the darkness of this age. But we will never wave a white flag because to surrender, in the wake of this raging conflict that goes on in our life and the grace that the cross bestows on your children, would then be all in vain and all it has meant for our salvation and life eternal. So the battle must continue until victory is ours through Christ.

And each day we must be “crucified with Christ.” And our life can no longer be about what we want, or our desires. But what is God’s will and His e5828867c0fb1edb1c14804554f2a1e0plans for our life? And how do we go about in helping Him achieve those plans? And my friends, Sometimes the process begins with just disciplining our character to make wise decisions on our eating habits.

Paul tells us in 1 Cor. 10:31 (NKJV) no matter what we eat or drink, or whatever we do, do all to the glory of God. And “all” my friends is “the greatest possible” that our finite minds can comprehend of every area of our life and the discipline and character to control those areas which tell us Christ has to have total access, not just the areas of our life we have already given over to Him. But, even those “socially acceptable sins“ we refuse to acknowledge as a sin because everyone does it.

And yes, it all begins at the cross because it was at the cross “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. So as that conflict from within continues, His love continues. “There are many whose hearts are aching under a load of care because they seek to reach the world’s standard. They have chosen its service, accepted its perplexities, adopted its customs.

Light-of-the-World-300x200Thus their character is marred and their life made a weariness. The continual worry is wearing out the life forces. Our Lord desires them to lay aside this yoke of bondage….Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service of God supreme will find perplexities vanish and a plain path before their feet. (Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 330)

So today we must allow God’s Spirit to penetrate the unknown places of our life, places we have never allowed him to penetrate before, and once we have given Him full and complete access to every avenue of our life we cannot let Him leave until we can say as Paul, I have fought the good fight, [and won] I have finished the race, [and conquered] I have kept the faith [and endured until the end] and [my reward awaits] me, which is life eternal.” in that place “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man [or woman] The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Cor. 2:9 (NKJV)

MY FRIENDS, WE ARE AT THE THRESHOLD ARE WE READY TO CONTINUE?

MY FRIENDS, WE ARE AT THE THRESHOLD ARE WE READY TO CONTINUE?

follow_christ_web_icon“All the way our Savior leads us, Cheers each winding path we tread, gives us grace for every trial, Feeds us with the living Bread. And though our weary steps may falter and our soul thirst may be, gushing from the Rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy we see.” My friends, our savior lead us all the way, as He cheers each winding path we tread as we enter the threshold of the promise land. This word “threshold” also has a twofold meaning. In psychology it is also called limen, which is the point at which a stimulus is of sufficient intensity to begin to produce an effect.

And as we enter the threshold of the promise land, as God’s chosen generation, we must become the stimulus which must begin to produce and have an effect on others through the outpouring and overflowing of God’s Spirit within us. Outpouring in Acts 2:17 (AMP) tells us that in the last days,’ God says, that He will “pour out His Spirit upon all mankind; and our sons and our daughters shall prophesy, and our young men [and women] shall see [divinely prompted] visions, and our old men [and women] shall dream [divinely prompted] dreams.”

The text goes on in (v, 8) saying even God’s bond-servants, both men and women, He will in those days pour out His Spirit and they shall prophesy.” follow1And my friends, I personally, and pray you feel the same way, as a warrior in the Lord’s army have a passion to put to death the message of false prophets and the ungodly and through the power of God’s Spirit witness to “the lost Souls that are in danger and tell them to look above, Jesus completely saves.”

And as God’s anointed we must personally stand our ground as God’s Spirit gives us the power to” strike down the enemy until our hands are frozen to our sword, God’s word as the Lord brings about a great victory.” 2 Sam.23:10 (Paraphrased) “For the earth shall quake before [God’s anointed, and] the heavens shall tremble:

The sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it? Joel 2:10-11(JKV) My friends, this is our mandate that starts out by saying “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.

And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NIV) This becomes a shared vision that we take to the world and we must not stop fighting in the army of God until we here Christ say personally “well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Matt 25:21 (NKJV)

maxresdefaultAnd those words tells us we are no longer at the threshold of the promise land but we have entered God’s glorious Kingdom. That place “Eye had not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of [the redeemed] The things prepared for” “all who came out of great tribulation; [and] have washed our robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” 1Cor. 2:9 (NKJV) Rev. 7:14 (NIV)

And then, He will wipe every tear from our eyes. And there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things [would have] passed away.” Rev. 21:4 (NIV)And my friends”affliction will not be brought up a second time.”

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE PREPARING TO CHOOSE A SIDE?

Oct. 9, 2016

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE PREPARING TO CHOOSE A SIDE?

7b0e8964343c510ddd500efa14fd6f68-300x229Eph. 6:12-18 (KJV) tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, therefore we must take the whole armor of God, so that we may be able to withstand in the evil day. Then the text begins to name all of the necessary armor needed to withstand in the evil day. But my friends, we must first realize there is a evil day and a need for such armor. And there is no middle ground on who we give our allegiance to. In other words, there will be no one on the side-line cheering for one side or the other.

And not everyone who says ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall be apart of the army of God. But only those who are doing the will of “our Father which art in heaven.” And many will say “Lord, Lord, as they begin to name all of their accomplishments and good deeds during their probationary period while here on earth [But the saddest words they will ever hear will be]‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” Matt 7:21-23 (ESV)

And it is at that moment all who have not “washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Rev. 7:14 (KJV) realize, no series-354-wide_imageamount of armor, prepared them for such devastating words “depart from me.” But my friends, there is hope, God continues to restrain His four angels who stand at the four corners of the earth, “which will bring about a time [of] great tribulation such has never occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will [again].” Rev 7:1 (NIV) Matt 24:21-22 (AMP)

This is the final test we are preparing for, and we must understand there is no grading on the curve, Christ has set the bar with only one grade being accepted for life eternal and that is the grade of perfection which says our character is a mirror image of Christ. So today, we must understand God’s Spirit is not our personal genie that sits around in a bottle we must first rub before He appears as we make our request known.

Spirit; today I wish for some passion to serve God, and a little faith maybe a mustard seed worth, and if you are not too busy why don’t You throw in a few all inspiring prayers and some endurance to get us through the day. My friends if you are a child of God, there is no reservation “we are living in the time of the end. The fast-fulfilling signs of the times declare that the coming of Christ is near at hand.

12751153_458413451018978_1961608473_nThe days in which we live are solemn and important. The Spirit of God is gradually but surely being withdrawn from the earth. Plagues and judgments are already falling upon the despisers of the grace of God. The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous.

They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude. The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.” (E.G. White, Testimonies for the Church Volume Nine, p 11)

But what about you and I are we “combining our forces and consolidating our faith and strengthening our Character in Christ for this final conflict between good and evil. Remember “the Lord thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty is the army that obeys his command. The day of the Lord is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it? Joel 2:11 (NIV)

MY FRIENDS, DO WE NEED TO READJUST OUR FOCUS?

Oct. 6, 2016

MY FRIENDS, DO WE NEED TO READJUST OUR FOCUS?

holy-bible“And they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Jesus and implored Him to touch him. Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around.” Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly.” Mark 8:22-25 (KJV)

“According to an interesting article in the Detroit Free Press, a pigeon walks the way it does so it can see where it is going because it can not adjust its focus as it moves. The pigeon actually has to bring its head to a complete stop between steps in order to refocus. This is the way it walks: head forward, stop; head back, stop! My friends, in our spiritual walk with the Lord we have the same problem as the pigeon, at times we have to come to complete stop as we cry out “Lord not my will, but thy will be done.”

And then as we refocus, our mind begins to seek once again the “things above, not on earthly things” that the god of this world has offered us. My friends, our imgres17walk with the Lord needs to have a pattern of spiritual stops that define who we are as Christians which are called fruits of the spirit which are; love, joy, peace, endurance, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance, [all attributes which enable us to see more clearly while moving throughout our life]” Gal. 5:22-23 (KJV).

And Sometimes we, like the blind man, need a second touch by Jesus in order to see things from His perspective because we have drifted so far away from the peaceful shore of His loving arms. And like the blind man, once his eyes was focused on Christ, He “saw people as moving objects, like trees walking.”

In other words, he could distinguish the difference between trees and people by their motion; with us we can distinguish once again the difference between good and evil and evil and good [while never again putting darkness for light and light for darkness” Is. 5:20 (NIV) As  Christians our focus must always remain on Jesus Christ and Him Crucified and what that means to our salvation. Nothing else should define This Race or journey that each of us are on to the finish line which is life eternal.

imgresRemember my Friends, when each of us stand before God the only thing that will matter, did we have A personal Relationship each day with our Savior? And did we allow our Lord and Savior to transform our character to be like His? Or did we allow the things of this world to become more important then serving God? As Christians we can never loose our focus on where Christ is leading us as we Study his Word, and seek His Spirit.

When we as Christians remain Focused we then surrender our all to the Master and Totally Surrendering to Christ and His Spirit is the the only way to live if we want to make heaven our home because as we move closer to Christ second coming if our life is not centered on God’s will for us, all other pathways only lead to defeat, and in the end perdition. Hebrews 12:2  tells us to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

MY FRIENDS, IS GOD’S PROVISIONS ENOUGH INTO GET US TO THE PROMISE LAND?

Oct. 5, 2016

MY FRIENDS, IS GOD’S PROVISIONS ENOUGH INTO GET US TO THE PROMISE LAND?

exoverview“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer. 29:11 (NIV) Israel did not understand all what God had done for them. His provisions and care for them did not register into their finite minds as a faith statement, and a promise that says “be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deut. 31:6 (NIV)

Forty years, Israel roamed the wilderness because they questioned Gods provisions. An entire generation, sentenced to wander aimlessly until all had died, with only Moses, Joshua and Caleb remaining to represent the generation that left Egypt. All because when Moses sent out the twelve to spy the land all but Caleb and Joshua exemplified the faith that God was looking for within each of us to endure to the end.

In Numbers 13:31 (NKJV) the faithless ten spies cried out, “the land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw the_two_reports_of_the_spies_crop-e1361385249764-350x250in it are men of great stature. (v 32,33) “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” There we saw the giants…. and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight………”

So all the congregation cried out, and wept that night complaining against Moses and Aaron, saying to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims?

Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.” Numbers 14:1-4 (NKJV) Yes, my friends, they did not understand God had brought them out from [Egypt, so He could bring [them to a land flowing with milk and honey] a land he promised to their ancestors” Deut. 6:23 (NKJV)

Heb. 11:1 (KJV) tells us “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” But my friends, in God grace and mercy He allowed His children to first see the the plagues that destroyed Egypt, the parting of the red sea, pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, and mana from heaven. So then, all that was required was for them not to questions His provisions, but move to the next level of their life the promise land.

Second-Coming-of-Jesus_iconThat was His plan for them. My friends, what does that say about you and I, who God provides for daily. His promise in Phil. 4:19 (NIV) says “And [our] God will meet all [of our needs] according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus and if we will accept God’s provision and allow His will to be done throughout our life our final destination will be the promise land.”

Time is precious, and if our goal is God’s eternal destination, His kingdom. Then we must move as God leads. And each moment we have left on this earth we should spend in searching to capture the mind and character of Christ through His word and Spirit because the things of this world will soon pass away and so will the unbelievers that did not allow God’s provisions on this earth to be sufficient enough for them to seek a new heaven and a new earth.

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE SLEEPING?

arton4347“But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore, He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” Walk in Wisdom See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Eph. 5:13-17 (NKJV) Awake you who sleep for the harvest is living “as those who have no hope.”

Awake and take the good news of the gospel to the Ninevites of the 21st century. God tells Jonah to go, cry out against; Nineveh for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose and escaped to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.” Jonah 1:3 (NKJV) First of all, Jonah was sleep when God called him. My friends, are we sleeping through our responsibility to go out and serve God.

And then Jonah runs in the opposite direction from where God has told him to Go. Oh the mercy and grace of God that still strives with each of us as we turn our back on Him and His will for our life. Like Jonah, God is doing everything to get us into His kingdom and we are doing everything to stay as far away from life eternal as we can.

We know the story, Jonah ends up on a boat to anywhere besides where God wants him to go. A storm Starts while Jonah is on board. The storm begins to jonah-boat-300x140rage out of control which tells us God is still trying to get Jonah’s attention. And once again Jonah is sleeping. My friends, this narrative must become personal; we must become Jonah. “The captain finds Jonah below and cries out like the world cries to us. (v,6) “What do you mean, sleeper?

Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.” My friends, the world parishes as we sleep, do we hear their cries. On Deck, they cast lots to see “on whose account this calamity has struck them.” And of course it falls on Jonah, they question Jonah. who are you? And so He witnesses to the crew about the Alpha and Omega.

In other words he took the church to the community. Oh the grace and mercy of God to get His message to a dying world that is tossed and turned in the trials and tribulations of a world marred in sin by the god of this world. Jonah tells the captain to toss Him overboard and their troubles will be over. Now, the captain and his crew journey with God begins once they threw Jonah overboard.

schadowfw-die_klugen_und_torichten_jungfrauen-1(v, 16) “Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice to the Lord and took vows.” My friends this devotional is not about Jonah today. But about our inactive response to Gods pleading to enter our heart so that we can begin to die to self while allowing our life to be transformed into the character and image of the one who has given it all for our salvation.

The disciples were sleep when they should have been praying for strength before Christ crucifixion. Jonah was sleep When His mandate was to go witness to the lost souls of Nineveh. The Ten virgins were all sleep but only five had enough oil to endure to the end. What about you and I, are we sleep, and do we “understand the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” Rom 13:11(NIV)
