MY FRIENDS, IS GOD’S PROVISIONS ENOUGH INTO GET US TO THE PROMISE LAND?

exoverview“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer. 29:11 (NIV) Israel did not understand all what God had done for them. His provisions and care for them did not register into their finite minds as a faith statement, and a promise that says “be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deut. 31:6 (NIV)

Forty years, Israel roamed the wilderness because they questioned Gods provisions. An entire generation, sentenced to wander aimlessly until all had died, with only Moses, Joshua and Caleb remaining to represent the generation that left Egypt. All because when Moses sent out the twelve to spy the land all but Caleb and Joshua exemplified the faith that God was looking for within each of us to endure to the end.

In Numbers 13:31 (NKJV) the faithless ten spies cried out, “the land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw the_two_reports_of_the_spies_crop-e1361385249764-350x250in it are men of great stature. (v 32,33) “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” There we saw the giants…. and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight………”

So all the congregation cried out, and wept that night complaining against Moses and Aaron, saying to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims?

Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.” Numbers 14:1-4 (NKJV) Yes, my friends, they did not understand God had brought them out from [Egypt, so He could bring [them to a land flowing with milk and honey] a land he promised to their ancestors” Deut. 6:23 (NKJV)

Heb. 11:1 (KJV) tells us “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” But my friends, in God grace and mercy He allowed His children to first see the the plagues that destroyed Egypt, the parting of the red sea, pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, and mana from heaven. So then, all that was required was for them not to questions His provisions, but move to the next level of their life the promise land.

Second-Coming-of-Jesus_iconThat was His plan for them. My friends, what does that say about you and I, who God provides for daily. His promise in Phil. 4:19 (NIV) says “And [our] God will meet all [of our needs] according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus and if we will accept God’s provision and allow His will to be done throughout our life our final destination will be the promise land.”

Time is precious, and if our goal is God’s eternal destination, His kingdom. Then we must move as God leads. And each moment we have left on this earth we should spend in searching to capture the mind and character of Christ through His word and Spirit because the things of this world will soon pass away and so will the unbelievers that did not allow God’s provisions on this earth to be sufficient enough for them to seek a new heaven and a new earth.
