MY FRIENDS, DID YOU KNOW, WE ARE NO LONGER SLAVES, WE ARE FREE?

Civil+War+Era+Slave+Sale+Enacted+St+Louis+rMHBHqvS7AQl-300x191Today let’s place ourselves on the auction block as slaves bound for perdition. As sinners we now stand without hope, with no joy, about to be sold to the highest bidder. We then look back over our life when we first became a slave to sin. We had the world in the palm of our hands, or so we thought, but now look at us a sad excuse even for a slave on the auction block, as we bow our head in shame.

And then, someone steps forward as the auctioneer say’s, what is your bid sir for this almost perfect slave to sin. That’s strange the bidder doesn’t say a word, he only holds up his hands and shows the deep imprint of the scares in His palm, He also points to the scares on his brow; He than pushes back his robe and shows a deep imprint in his side.

No words are exchanged, but  the chains that are on our hands and feet mysteriously falls to the ground. The buyer then tells each of us, we are g202782_u53174_image002now free. We have never seen this person before but I do recognize the voice, and then tears begin to flow down our cheeks as we realize, we have been redeemed by love, grace and mercy. “All to Jesus we now surrender all to him we freely give, we will ever love and trust him in his presence daily will we live.”

Harriet Tubman the “African-American abolitionist, humanitarian, who during the American Civil War, was a Union spy. Born into slavery, Tubman escaped and subsequently made about thirteen missions to rescue approximately seventy enslaved families and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad.

She is quoted as saying “I freed a thousand slaves, I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.” At the time of slavery when the blacks of Africa were captured, they were always placed into shackles, these shackles were not only used as a means to keep slaves grounded but it was also a way to humiliate defiant slaves who tried to escape.

Silver_ShacklesSuch use of restraints were served as an effective way for a plantation owner to physically and psychologically control their slaves. My friends Our Savior Jesus Christ paid a very high price for our freedom from Slavery and shackle of the sins of this world. But today, we must recognize that we are slaves if we have not “laid aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us.”

And this can only happen, when sin has become so unrecognizable in our sight, as Satan’s enticement makes sin seem good and wholesome to God’s Children, while not fully understanding that its end is perdition. My friends, we must never forget ”we were bought at a very high price.” We are free if we believe and endure, Eternal life is ours if we have faith to allow God’s word and Spirit to take full control of our lives and place them into the loving arms of Christ.

Today the world is at its worst “but God’s grace still pleads at the Auction block for all sinners that are bound by “sin and shaped in iniquity.” So please remember, Jesus love has done it all, and only when we actually allow that love to penetrate every fiber of our being, as we reveal the good news to all who will listen; we are no longer salves, because we have been bought with a price, and that price was the blood of Jesus Christ. Will you also allow Him to free you?

So friends stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY
