MY FRIENDS, WHERE DO WE FIND, “PEACE PERFECT PEACE?”

MY FRIENDS, WHERE DO WE FIND, “PEACE PERFECT PEACE?”

“Their cry arouses Jesus. As the lightning’s glare reveals Him, they see the peace of heaven in His face; they read in His glance calm the windself-forgetful, tender love, and, their hearts turning to Him, cry, “Lord, save us: we perish.” Never did a soul utter that cry unheeded.

As the disciples grasp their oars to make a last effort, Jesus rises. He stands in the midst of His disciples, while the tempest rages, the waves break over them, and the lightning illuminates His countenance. He lifts His hand, so often employed in deeds of mercy, and says to the angry sea, “Peace, be still.” (E.G. White Desire of Ages “Peace Be Still” pp 355)

My friends the world parishes, as they seek peace. And they will continue to parish, “for when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” 1 Thess. 5:3 (NKJV)

In addition, “There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.” Is. 48:22 (ESV) so now let’s make it personal, let’s make it about you and I as we cry out each day Lord, save me: for I perish as the tempest rages and the waves break over us, and the lightning illuminates His countenance.

And as He lifts His hand, and says to the angry seas of our life, “Peace, be still.” My friends peace, that is what we seek Animated Waterfalleach day. For peace is not just in the absence of danger, or the trials and tribulation of our life being eliminated.

But as you close your eyes picture along with me a waterfall cascading down a rocky precipice, or a mirror-smooth lake reflecting lacy green birches under the soft blush of the evening sky, or a  grassy shore, where a flock of sheep are grazing undisturbed.

And then picture a little bird that has built a nest in the elbow of a branch, content and undisturbed in her stormy surroundings, as she rest on her eggs with eyes closed and her wings ready to cover her little ones, as she perceives the silence that transcends all earthly turmoil.

Oh the beauty, in the creation of God. But my friends no peace can we describe with our finite minds, or transcend all of earthly turmoil like being in the presence of God. “Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin? The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

HomeComing-300x225Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed? To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round? On Jesus’ bosom naught but calm is found. Peace, perfect peace, ’mid suffering’s sharpest throes? The sympathy of Jesus breathes repose. Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away? In Jesus’ keeping we are safe, and they.

Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown? Jesus we know, and He is on the throne. Peace, perfect peace, death shadowing us and ours? Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers. It is enough: earth’s struggles soon shall cease, And Jesus calls us to Heaven’s perfect peace.” (Edward H. Bickersteth,)

That my friends gives us somewhat of a picture of perfect peace. Jesus tells us himself in John 16:33 (ESV) I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the 7_heaven-300x225world.”

And as Christ, our example we also can obtain perfect peace But not in a world that has lost it’s spiritual compass but My friends, perfect peace to a child of God is not only being in the presence of God but also being in a place “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man, [a place] which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Cor. 2:9 (NKJV)

family, Friends, love ones, neighbors, co-workers, those we have witnessed to, and a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds and people, and tongues, Patriarchs and Prophets, the holy Angels, God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Heaven and life eternal. Now my friends that is what I call perfect peace.

So my friends today. Stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY
