MY FRIENDS, AS YOU LOOK UPON THE FACE OF JESUS, THE WORLD WILL GROW STRANGELY DIM.

turn-your-eyes-upon-jesus“Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face and the things of Earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace” What an awesome song for God’s children to live by which tells us, if you can keep your eyes focused on Christ, the things of this world will grow strangely dim and you can finish your journey to the promise land.

My friends, let’s Look upon His face as He is Slapped, brutalized, beaten and spit upon, But never loses focus on His journey and where He is going.

Look upon His face as the crowds are looking on, rabble rousers are shouting, women weeping, hecklers mocking and soldiers harassing, as His disciples go into hiding as they reject Him as their friend, Master and most of all the Son of God.

Look upon His face as he walks “The Via Dolorosa, the road from the place of Pontius Pilate’s sentencing, to Golgotha, The “wayvd_graphic of sorrows.” Look upon His face as he hung on that cruel cross as He realizes nothing that happen at Calvary on that day was about Him, but to the contrary it was all about the saving of Humanity from the clutches of the forces of evil.

Look upon His face as “The principalities and powers of darkness were assembled around the cross, casting the hellish shadow of unbelief into the hearts of men, in leading the people to believe Christ the chief of sinners, and to make Him the object of detestation.

[Look upon His face] as those who mocked Christ as He hung upon the cross were imbued with the spirit of the first great rebel. He filled them with vile and loathsome speeches. He inspired their taunts. But by all this he gained nothing.” [Because our Savior never lost focus on where His journey was taking Him.] (E.G. White Desire of ages pp. 760-761)

Father-Forgive-Them-940x440Look upon His face as He says “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” Luke 23:34 (KJV) Look upon His face as the guards divided His garments and cast lots.

Then my friends last but not least look upon His face as He says “It is finished” John 19:30 (KJV) “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” as he breathed his last. Luke 23:46 (NIV)

My friends if we could just look upon His face and recognize all that was done for you and I “the things of Earth would grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.”  But it must become a passion to stay focused on the face of Christ and what he went through for us.

Have you ever wondered why a pigeon walks so funny? According to an article in the Detroit Free Press, a pigeon walks the way Pigeon-1it does so it can see where it’s going. Because it can’t adjust its focus as it moves, the pigeon actually has to bring its head to a complete stop between steps in order to refocus.

First, head forward, stop; head back, stop! In our spiritual walk with the Lord we have the same problem as the pigeon. We have a hard time seeing while we’re moving.

We also need to stop between steps to refocus on where we are in relation to this World and our walk with the Lord which enable us to see Christ face more clearly before moving on.

In addition, in the world we live in at every stop we make, Satan has a temptation waiting to draw our eye’s away from the light of Christ presence, onto the things of this world, but remaining focus on the face of Christ at each situation and circumstances of our life, will allow everything on this earth to grow strangely dim as we continue our journey to the promise land and life eternal.

So friends stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY
