MY FRIENDS, THINGS WILL BEGIN TO MOVE RAPIDLY ARE YOU READY?
Four thousand years after man’s fall “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him……And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:11-14 (NKJV)
Thirty three years later. Thru the Jordan Trail “Down the Vía Dolorosa called the way of suffering like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, came the Messiah, who chose from the foundation of the world to travel this journey.
The journey moves rapidly (1) The Last Supper (2) The Garden of Gethsemane where Christ spends His last Hours praying to His Father, He is then Betrayed and Arrested. His journey then has many experiences.
But Christ remains focused on the journey, as His life was continually threatened, unjustly tried and rejected as the Son of God. Matt. 26:62-64 (NKJV) tells us the high priest asked Jesus “are you the Christ, the Son of God?”
“It is as you said ,” [in fact, more than that] you will see me one day sitting at the right hand of God coming through the clouds of heaven” He is then condemned of blasphemy deserving of death.
The final phase of our Salvation is put into place. But in the eyes of those around Him His mission is now belittled to that of an out of touch, Crazy street preacher so He is Slapped, brutalized, beaten, spit upon but the journey continues!
Crowds looking on, rabble rousers are shouting, women weeping, hecklers mocking, soldiers harassing, His disciples abandon Him. (4) 6 am Jesus Stands Trial Before Pilate, He is then Sent to Herod. (5)
7 am Jesus Returned to Pilate, and Sentenced to Death our perfect Savior, Dying in an imperfect world for you and I. My friends it’s very personal today because now we must realize [as God’s chosen we] were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that we should follow His steps:
“Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously.
In addition He bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls. 1 Peter 2:21-25 (NKJV)
My friends, his faith, focus, humility, grace, mercy, love, power, holiness, endurance and spirit we all have obtained through Calvary if we believe. And now it is not Christ time but ours that will begin to move rapidly. it is our time to spend many hour in prayer, but only if we are determine to give it all to the Master.
But my friends, we can’t keep making our salvation a new year’s resolution that we keep breaking year after year. Grace will end at some point and one day soon, we also will see “Christ sitting at the right hand of God coming through the clouds of heaven.”
And those who have squandered their time, talent and money away on earthly things will be crying to the mountains and rocks, fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: Rev. 6:16 (KJV)
And the few who stayed focused on that narrow road will look up knowing “Christ is bringing our reward, to give to each person according to what they have done.” Rev. 22:12 (KJV)
Every excuse we may give as the reason we cannot serve Christ, was challenged and answered at Calvary.
