THE PERFECT DREAM AND THEN I AWAKEN, CAN I GO BACK?

THE PERFECT DREAM AND THEN I AWAKEN, CAN I GO BACK?

sleep3Have you ever had a dream you awake before it ends and for once you remember what your dream was about, you tell yourself if I could just go back to sleep and finish THAT PERFECT DREAM  but that is usually next to impossible.

William Mcdowell sings a song that says “I’ve been changed In the presence of the lord, and I have waited for this moment right here I have waited all my life for it to come and I won’t let it pass me by. So I won’t go back, can’t go back, to the way it used to be before your presence came and changed me.”

However, the big picture of where I need you to focus at today comes from our savior Himself when He tells us “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jer. 29:11 (NKJV)

That text tells me this journey that Christ has placed each of us on goes back farther iStock_000006267207XSmallthen we could ever imagine. In fact the plan for our life was determined on Calvary over 2000 years ago. Even before this wretched sinful life we lived and before we allowed His Spirit to transform our character Christ had made a peculiar set of plans that are unique only to each of our character traits.

Remember He knows the number of hairs on each of our heads,” and without counting because He is  Omniscience; all knowing. Webster defines Omniscience as “the quality of knowing all things at once; universal knowledge; knowledge unbounded or infinite.” There is nothing he does not know about us and like our own Children who we have trained while at home, we know them, their ways and habits.

But once they leave home and start their own life and family we sometimes loose our “universal knowledge” about them and our values are not always there values, and you ask yourself where is my child that I raised? But what about when we leave God’s presence like the Prodigal son or Daughter and seek other gods.

d6dbca4511381d0f0efca1744c141520.500x394x1He still knows our desires and feelings our words before we speak our thoughts before we think, “He knows our way [that at times seems right to His Children], But its end [is a course that will lead to perdition and death] Prov. 14:12 (NKJV) My friends How far back would you like to go and what would you find.

Today if we seek God’s kingdom we can only back step to the point where Christ first came into our life because anything else would be futile and incapable of producing any real results towards our Salvation and the plans God has laid out for our lives from infancy.

A story is told in an article in a Readers Digest magazines about a couple, Soon after their sixth anniversary, the couple’s home burned to the ground. The wife’s first act, when they were allowed to hunt through the blackened remains, was to search for their photo albums. When she went to tell her husband that the pictures had indeed survived, she found him carefully placing in a box some charred, folded pieces of paper their courtship love letters.

“As I watched my husband kneeling there in the ashes,” she says, “I was overcome with the certainty that we were meantjesus-and-me for each other. There, in the face of our greatest tragedy, our first thoughts were not of our material loss but of the potential loss of these precious parts of our life together. As I knelt to help I was certain that we hadn’t lost anything that mattered after all.”

My friends whatever our life was about before Christ entered it does not matter because we have not lost anything that mattered because anything before that only lead to death and destruction. But what we found in its place was a God who loved us so much that He allowed His “Only Begotten Son” to be  sacrificed so that everyone who believes may receive life eternal. “So I won’t go back, I can’t go back, to the way it used to be before My Savior’s presence came and changed me.”

MY FRIENDS IS IT I OR THE CHURCH?

MY FRIENDS IS IT I OR THE CHURCH?

141First: I have accepted the concept of helping the needed “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” On top of that, I keep all the commandments:

I Do not commit adultery, I Do not murder, I Do not steal, I Do not bear false witness, and I Honor my parents  “yes I have kept All these things from my youth.” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this, he went away sad…” Matt 19:21-22 (NIV)

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matt.7:21 (NIV) That my friends is a warning from Jesus Christ Himself. In addition We as Christians first must recognize The Laodicea church  in Rev. 3 represents our church today.

But we must make it Personnel for it is not the Church but I being one person, who just so happen to be a member of a imagesbody of believers. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (NKJV) There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone [meaning I] are the same God at work.” If I allow him to carry out His will in my life.

That text tells me my God is not coming back for a church but for the faithful that have “been crucified with Christ. [and who no longer allows self to live, but only Jesus Christ who lives in you and I]. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Gal 2:20 (ESV)

It is not the church that has lost it’s significance and savor, to a dying world. Because the church is only a place of occupancy where we go once a week to socialize and catch up. My friends it will be I who must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that I may receive what is due [me] for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” 2 Cor. 5:10 (NIV)

If our desire is to be a part of God’s Kingdom we must seek daily a burning passion and a desire to be in the Presence of Christ each day. Paul tells each of us in Colossians 2:6 -8 (NIV) “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

As God’s chosen we must continue His ministry as one and as a faith base body of believers with a fire that burns withinprayer our mind and body as we become witnesses to the world and to everyone we may come in contact with each day. This Passion for serving Christ starts with studying and digesting the Word of God. As Jeremiah tells us in Jeremiah 15:16 (NKJV) “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.”

In addition, Romans 10:17 tells us So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So It all starts with the Word of God, and a continuous digesting of its precepts. And a wiliness to allow God’s Spirit to transform. God also gives a wonderful promise to the Laodicea Church “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.” Rev 21:3 (NIV)

“WHEN CHRIST APPEARS, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM”

June 9, 2014

“WHEN CHRIST APPEARS, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM”

Jesus paid a price on Calvary with His own blood so that we will have faith and not FEAR the unknown. Jesus will always enter our lives if we ask Him just to fill us up and give us “life more abundantly.” He seeks to quench our spiritual thirst. walks-on-waterBut we have to recognize and be VIGILANT because Satan is out to destroy you, so why should we give him this opportunity when Christ has given us the  opportunity to “Trust in him at all times and be saved.

For God is our refuge.”  But there must be a PASSION, or A THIRST for what Our God is willing to give us Psalm 42:1-2 says: “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.” I thirst for God, We need to recognize our need to be filled by Him and Not by the things the god of this world places before us that one day will pass away.

When the disciples saw Christ walking on the sea, they were TERRIFIED and they cried out in FEAR. What are the fears that keep you from allowing God’s Spirit to transform your Character into the character of Christ. 1 John 1:3 (NIV) tells us “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that WHEN CHRIST APPEARS, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM for we shall see him as he is.”

My friends let’s focus today on those eight words “WHEN CHRIST APPEARS, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM.” Not our mothersblessed-hope-jesus-return-4_n1 or fathers or our favorite character on TV who we love to watch, “for Salvation is found in no one else” but Christ. Now I must ask you to take a self-evaluation today and ask yourself how far are you away from reaching that goal and are you seeking Christ Presence each day with a Passion so “WHEN CHRIST DOES APPEAR, YOU WILL BE LIKE HIM.”

When the disciples saw Christ walking on water “they were terrified.” Matt 14:27-29 (NIV) tells us “But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Peter followed Christ and did as He asked. My friends our initial step must be to come to Christ when He calls.

dreamstime_4732909Open God’s word and seek Him daily as you allow self to die, He is calling you! Make His Passion to save you Your Passion to be saved and tell others also about the saving grace of our God and what He is willing to do for anyone who believes? What a risky step for us to take, giving it all to the Master as we follow Him on this Journey He has placed us on.

“But by Faith it is possible” to Finish this journey and cross over into the promise land, but it must be all about our Faith and God’s saving grace. Christ Calls us today, He will be here soon, tell God I’m going to listen, obey, and trust You. I’m going to move in whatever direction you lead. I don’t really want to because I’m satisfied and content with the status quo. I have a good job, I got everything I need in life, why am I taking a chance with you.

But my friends have faith God is calling you today, to follow him.  In addition, tell yourself I’m going to Follow Christ jesus-pulls-peter-from-water1-300x198simply because He is calling and wants to save me from the forces of evil, and imminent destruction and oh what a sacrifice was paid so WHEN HE APPEARS, I SHALL BE LIKE HIM “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:

While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NIV) And if at times you may begin to sink, like Peter cry out when you see the rough winds of this world “LORD SAVE ME!” and immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt? Matt 14:31 (NIV) and when Peter held onto the saving hands of Christ the winds died down.” Where is your faith today my friends how close are you to being like CHRIST WHEN HE APPEARS?

MY FRIENDS, “THE BATTLE IS WON ON OUR KNEES”

June 8, 2014

MY FRIENDS, “THE BATTLE IS WON ON OUR KNEES”

“WHEN YOU SEEK ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART, I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD.” Jeremiah 29:11-14

MY FRIENDS, “THE BATTLE IS WON ON OUR KNEES,” “CONSISTENT WITH THIS, WHEN WE SEEK GOD WITH ALL OF prayerOUR HEART, I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU” I can make this statement with full assurance because my God “He sees the master plan the finish product after He has molded us into His likeness.

In addition, that is why He holds the future of each of our lives in His hands. “So don’t live as those who have no hope;” “because our hope is found in Jesus Christ, but we must first believe that there is “no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (NIV)

As a Child of the King the present is as far as we can see no mater how many plans we make for our future, life constantly changes sometimes for, sometimes against us. But God is different because He is God He sees the future and the direction we are going and where we will end up if His Spirit is not guiding our foot steps.

“Like a tapestry, He’s constantly weaving our character to someday be like His So that we can be “safe to save” and live black-church-mother-daughter-praying1with Him throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity. Remember “THE BATTLE IS WON ON OUR KNEES, God does not play “hide and seek” with our Salvation “WHEN WE SEEK GOD WITH ALL OF OUR HEART, I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU”

He knows His Sheep when they call because He knows we “are dependent upon Him not only for temporal blessings, but for grace and strength to keep us from falling under the power of temptation. We daily need the Bread of Life to give us spiritual strength and vigor, just as much as we need food to sustain our physical strength and give us firm muscles.

We are compassed with weakness and infirmities, doubts and temptations; but we can come to Jesus in our need, and He will not turn us away empty. He invites, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly of heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” This is no doubtful, uncertain promise, but a positive one.” (Prevailing Prayer Ellen G. White) “

Christ as man, above all others, “seems to be least comforted by God, at His greatest need Jesus pleaded three times for God to “Take this cup from me ” but as our example Christ Humanity did not allow Him to see pass the Grave, but “our father which art in heaven” did, Christ faith like ours had to be stretched to the limit.

In addition, the rejection, Spit upon, , the slaps, beatings, nails, crown of thorns must be felt as we would feel. Christ has asked us to also take up that Cross, but  it must become a passion we seek daily because once we accept, THE CUP BECOMES OURS, even if asked to sacrifice our life for the Master.

http://www.dreamstime.com/-image18294274The only difference will be Christ took our sins upon himself and those sins will be left at Calvary if we believe. Friends “if our prayers are sometimes granted, beyond all hope and probability, We had better not draw hasty conclusions to our own advantage or power. If we were stronger, we might be less tenderly treated.

If we were braver, we might be sent, with far less help, to defend far more desperate posts in the great battle.” (Philip Yancey, Zondervan, p. 208.) Between good and evil. Like a child our Savior knows how to guide our growth. So stay on your KNEES THAT IS WHERE “THE BATTLE IS WON, CONSISTENT WITH THIS, “WHEN WE SEEK GOD WITH ALL OF OUR HEART, I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU”

“A RISING TIDE LIFTS ALL BOATS”

“A RISING TIDE LIFTS ALL BOATS”

ChristWalkingWaterTIDE: the periodic rise and fall of the waters of the ocean, produced by the attraction of the moon and sun, or SON as in my only BEGOTTEN SON or the SON OF THE LIVING GOD and what “A RISING TIDE LIFTS ALL BOATS” means to us personally and the Awe of being in the presence of the SON OF GOD and how that will LIFT us to places I don’t believe we have the words to explain.

So today let’s focus as we allow the SON OF GOD to LIFT us to an overwhelming feeling of being in His Presence, a feeling that tells us this is what I must feel and where I must take my life every moment of my life if I truly seek the kingdom of God and to have such a feeling we must begin to un-clutter or THROW OFF EVERYTHING THAT HINDERS and the sin that so easily entangles.

And let us run with perseverance THE RACE MARKED OUT FOR US, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and PERFECTER OF FAITH. For the joy set before Him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. CONSIDER HIM WHO ENDURED such opposition from sinners, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT GROW WEARY AND LOSE HEART.” Heb. 12:1-3(NKJV)

THE RACE MARKED OUT FOR US That is where I need you to focus today and then look at your life, look back maybe atimgres a death of a love one or an illness that has taken you places you did not know you would ever go or a pregnant teenage daughter or a son on drugs or in jail, or maybe just a Child or family member who has no desire to know the same God you know and the list goes on.

Now that you have made it personal tell yourself this is THE RACE OR JOURNEY MARKED OUT FOR ME, SO THAT I WILL NOT GROW WEARY AND LOSE HEART.” “So now it is well with my soul” as I continue until the day of my Saviors appearing and then I will see my Saviors Face and allow Him to wipe the last tears from my eyes with the same hands that were pierced on Calvary so that I could live with Him throughout eternity.

My friends we must continue to allow God to transform us and that change is not retroactive on the fact that you are a good person and visit the sick and feed the homeless each week but it is a process that takes a lifetime and as we allow the SON OF GOD to LIFT us to a level that places us in His presence daily and prepares us for His kingdom.

tumblr_mhvidnSo281rkir5po1_500Consistent with this, we begin to LIFT our family, friends, love one’s neighbors, co-workers, and a world that has lost it spiritual compass. “We are in a race daily either for the kingdom of God or Perdition so if we seek God’s kingdom then we must not forget this is THE RACE, OR JOURNEY MARKED OUT FOR US and the prize is life eternal.

The fairy tale Alice in Wonderland. In a conversation between Alice and the Cheshire Cat, Alice asked, “Would you tell me please, which way I ought to go from here?” “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the cat. “I don’t much care where,” said Alice. “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the cat.

Meanwhile, as a child of God where do you want to go and have you figured out howimgres to get there and do you even care the choice is yours Christ waits. But “IF THE ANGELS COULD PULL BACK THE CURTAIN” and we could see how close the god of this world and all who follow Him are to reaching their cup of indignation and God standing up saying IT IS FINISHED we would all tremble and weep before God in repentance.

My friends soon we want have to say “LORD HOW LONG” because He will be appearing, through the clouds above to come and “give to each according to their works.” But today grace and mercy is still with us. So friends I ask you HOW LONG BEFORE YOU ALLOW HIM TO LIFT YOU.

So my friends today. Stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY

MY FRIENDS, “THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US”

MY FRIENDS, “THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US”

imagesToday let’s focus on 1 Samuel 7 (NKJV) Samuel at this time is Judge over Israel. Israel had just got the ark back from the Philistines who wanted no parts of it. They had retrieved it after defeating the Israeli army, a disastrous lesson for both sides. first Israel realize it was not the ark or an object that had the power to defeat one’s enemies and then the Philistines who thought that it had some great magical power that could be used in their behalf.

So now you have both the philistines and Israel being punish for not knowing who God is and what His capabilities are. You can understand the Philistines being complacent about who God is, they had never known God that was Israel’s responsibility to teach them about the only true God which they had failed to do, but what about God’s chosen what was there excuse. But once again we witness the grace, mercy and love of God and how far he is willing to reach and save us.

1 Samuel 7:3 (ESV) tells us Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then imgresput away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.” Oh what our God will do to save us no mater what we have done or how far we have drifted away from Him.

Israel had went as far as worshiping the same fake gods that they had defeated when they first entered the promise land. My friends once we make it to our final destination, there will forever be only one “King eternal, immortal, invisible, wise God, (who we will give praise) honour and glory too for ever and ever.” 1 Tim 1:17 (ESV) Then the philistines heard that Israel had gathered together and was praying to the God who they thought they had defeated once before, not knowing they had only defeated men on the battle field not God Himself.

1 Samuel 7:7-10 (ESV) tells us Now when the Philistines heard that the people of Israel had gathered at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the people of Israel heard of it, they were afraid of the Philistines. And the people of Israel said to Samuel, “Do not cease to cry out to the Lord our God for us, that he may save us from the hand of the Philistines.” Samuel then offers a sacrifice to the lord.

In-The-BeginningAs Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to attack Israel. But the Lord thundered with a mighty sound that day against the Philistines and threw them into confusion, and they were defeated before Israel. My friends it is such a simple thing to serve God 1 Samuel 7:12 (NKJV) then tells us “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US.”

My friends “THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US.” if you Build a good, solid and secure foundation deep in your heart, based on God’s truth in His word and at the same time completely surrender your will to the Master then God will fight all of our battles and give us what we ask. “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13 (NIV)

Isaiah says also in Isaiah 66:2 (ESV) “Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord. “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.” We should strive daily to be like Jesus even after preaching all day to the masses, Jesus would leave to pray. His life was sustained by His time with His Father. So should ours be the same, as we walk daily in the path and righteousness of our Lord and Savior. God chose us to become like His Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn with many brothers and sisters (Romans 8:29)

THE SOLDIER’S CREED: “NO MAN OR WOMAN LEFT BEHIND”

June 5, 2014

THE SOLDIER’S CREED: “NO MAN OR WOMAN LEFT BEHIND”

article-2648208-1E7484A000000578-7_634x428Our first example of a SOLDIERS CREED is when the children of Israel were at the threshold of the promise land, soon too enter and Moses handed down a creed from the Sovereign and Supreme ruler of the universe which states: “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deu. 31:6 (ESV)

The Soldiers creed of the USA armed forces has taken center stage in the last few days since the President negotiated the release of our only prisoner of war, Bowe Bergdahl from his Taliban captors in Afghanistan. Consistent with this, there has been some concern if Bergdahl had walk away from his unit and actually deserted his post. Question I am sure will be answered in due time.

Which takes us to our message today. As I look at man and his relationship with God and the soldiers who are fighting in this controversy between good and evil. And then I see how many soldiers have fallen into the enemy’s hands and how many soldiers at one time were once in the army of our God, starting with Family friends and love ones and became discourage and left their post and are now in the hands of the enemy.

There are so many scenarios how a soldiers falls into the hands of the enemy but what a Child of God needs to realize is that we fs4c1who are still fighting in this battle for Christ, we need to find some way to rescue all fallen comrades from the ENEMY, for Satan takes no prisoners and he will destroy every one that falls prey to him.

“The soldier’s first article of faith is summed up nowhere more eloquently than in an 1865 letter from William Tecumseh Sherman to U.S. Grant: “I knew wherever I was…you would come if alive.” This is the unwritten, unspoken but unbreakable contract of the battlefield: You will leave no one, dead or alive, in the hands of the enemy. (U.S. News and World Report, July 29, 1991, p. 5.)

My friends what is your level of dedication and commitment to making sure no one falls into the ENEMY’S hands and if they do you will use “whatever means necessary” as long as it is in accordance with our Sovereign God’s precepts He has laid down for us to get them back. SO MY FRIENDS HERE IS YOUR CREED IF YOU ARE IN GOD’S ARMY

legionaire1. I am an a Soldier and Warrior in God’s Army I am part of a team who consist of God the FATHER, SON AND HOLY GHOST. “So I will take my share of the hardships and suffering which I am called to endure as a good first-class soldier in the Army of God. And as a  soldier for Christ I will not get entangled in the enterprises of the god of this world; my aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted me. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”) 2 Tim 2:3:4 (AMP)

2. I will always place the mission which is saving souls first. (“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”) Mark 16:15 (NIV)

3. I will never quit or accept defeat. For God will fight all of my battles (“Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD…2Cron. 20:17 (NIV)

4. I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and spiritual duties. (“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”) 1 Cor. 10:31(NIV)

5. I will always maintain my arms which is “the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness,  and having shod my image060feet with the readiness given by the gospel of peace and the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, my equipment and myself.” Eph 6:10-18 (RSV)

6. I stand ready to deploy and engage with the help of Jesus Christ, His spirit and all of the forces of the LIVING  GOD.

7. I will never leave a fallen Soldier who belongs to the ARMY OF GOD BEHIND.

My friends like the Children of Israel we are at the threshold of the PROMISE LAND, TAKE UP YOUR CREED AND NEVER LET IT GO UNTIL YOU HAVE CROSSED OVER.

AT THE CROSSROADS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!!

June 4, 2014

AT THE CROSSROADS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!!

shutterstock_102422173“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Matt 7:13-14 (ESV)

Many of our decisions from day to day are trivial and irrelevant, but some are life-changing. But The most critical decision we will ever make in this short period of probation, from birth to death that we have been given, is our relationship with Christ.

“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.” Matt. 16:24 (NIV) And it is at our CROSSROADS where Satan makes his presentation “All this I will give you,’ …’if you will bow down and worship me.”

So today the signs, are pointing but in opposite directions, one points to Jesus Christ and eternal life and the other is pointing toward a path bound for perdition. God’s Spirit will not force us to choose the more difficult path which leads to life eternal. DECISIONS, DECISIONS, if I just wait a few years things will get better I am almost out of school.

I will be getting married next month and then I will have a husband or wife to help me make that decision, or maybe images you just got that big promotion at work and things are really looking up. But my friends all of that is irrelevant when it comes to our salvation and the choices we need to make at this moment.

“After 14 years of studying the Bible, William Miller (1782-1849)–a U.S. revivalist who predicted the second coming and earned a large but temporary following of  50,000-100,000–became convinced that Christ would return in 1843. When Miller announced April 3 as the day, some disciples went to mountaintops, hoping for a head start to heaven.

imagesOthers were in graveyards, planning to ascend in reunion with their departed loved ones. Philadelphia society ladies clustered together outside town to avoid entering God’s kingdom amid the common herd. When April 4 dawned as usual the Millerites were disillusioned, but they took heart.

Their leader had predicted a range of dates for Christ’s return. They still had until March 21, 1844. The devout continued to make ready, but again they were disappointed. A third date–October 22, 1844–was set, but it also passed. (Today in the Word, MBI, December 20, 1991.)

So by all accounts it seems we don’t really have to make any drastic decisions right now about our salvation. It has been a subject for debate for thousands of years, God will understand if I wait. My friends I don’t think Christ will ever give us a pass about our Salvation.

Paul tells us “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, YET WITHOUT SIN.”Heb 4:15-16 those three words tells us that what God understand is He made a sacrifice on Calvary so now your CROSSROAD DECISIONS must be all about our choice to live a life centered on our Savior’s needs not ours.

“He stands at the door of our heart and knocks” You are AT THE CROSSROADS and He knocks. You may even turn your1044-Jesus_Knock_on_a_21st_Century_Door back on Him because you just have to many exciting things that you have planned but He still knocks. The main point is God loves us and He is reaching as far as he can to pull us to Him as we stand at  OUR CROSSROAD and focus on God’s saving grace, and the promises in His Word.

Also choosing our Savior can be personally painful and difficult at times, because at our CROSSROAD if  the path we choose is Christ then we will also have to carry the cross that he carried. And as we carry that cross it confronts ungodly attitudes, carnal living, and selfish motives from within that we must eliminate from our life. But THE GOOD NEWS my friends is “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,”and God will make it possible if we have faith and endure till the end.”SALVATION AND LIFE ETERNAL IS OURS

“THE JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES BEGINS BENEATH ONE’S FEET”

June 3, 2014

“THE JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES BEGINS BENEATH ONE’S FEET”

imgres“Even the longest journey must begin where you stand” along with the issues you hold dear to your heart and the master you chose to follow, for “no man, or woman can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other;……” Matt. 6:24 (KJV)

So my friends God has placed each of us on a JOURNEY but our Salvation is not dependent on when we start but our PASSION FOR THE JOURNEY and the end result. God has chosen each of us for a purpose, we “are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, THAT YOU MAY DECLARE THE PRAISES OF HIM who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

Today let’s first focus on the words THAT YOU MAY DECLARE THE PRAISES OF HIM. This JOURNEY also has another component to it. John 15:16 (NIV) tells us “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might GO AND BEAR FRUIT, fruit that will last and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”

The words, GO AND BEAR FRUIT is where I also need you to focus on today because the question was asked Christ over 2000 years worship-love-serve-smallago “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” and Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40 (NIV)

Consistent with this, we show our Love for God when we serve Him and DECLARE OUR PRAISES TO HIM  but it must become a PASSION that drives us to follow the good Sheppard in whatever direction he may lead us for God chooses our Journey, but it is our responsibility to follow and while on this journey He has placed us on we will also BEAR FRUIT.

The Journey is not about us it is all about PRAISING GOD and BEARING FRUIT along the way. These are the greatest of God’s precepts with LOVE as the foundation for “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John imgres14:15 (NKJV)

“Love is the basis of godliness. Whatever the profession, no man has pure love to God unless he has unselfish love for his brother. But we can never come into possession of this spirit by trying to love others. What is needed is the love of Christ in the heart. When self is merged in Christ, love springs forth spontaneously. The completeness of Christ is attained when the impulse to help and bless others springs constantly from within–when the sunshine of heaven fill the heart and is revealed in the countenance.” (E. G. White COL pp 384)

My friends The Journey is long and tough But we must continue. “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:17 (NIV) but you must believe in God’s promises for Christ tells us “Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. John 6:47 (NIV)

The god of this world will make sure the journey is not easy and the closer we get to Christ second coming that road willimgres begin to get narrower, Satan will begin to put more problems that he creates in our life, money problems, health problems, marital problems, children problems, sexual problems and the list goes on.

Matt.7:13-14 (NIV) tells us to “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” But the story does not end there.

This my friends is how it all ends for God has prepared a place that “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Cor. 2:19 (NIV) But only for His Children “that shall ENDURE THIS JOURNEY until the end,”  then “we shall be saved.” Matthew 24:13 (KJV) and receive life eternal. THE END!!!!!!!!!!

So my friends today. Stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY

THE ROAD TO THE KINGDOM IS TO “FOLLOW ME”

June 2, 2014

THE ROAD TO THE KINGDOM IS TO “FOLLOW ME” ALONG THE PATH OR JOURNEY I SET YOU ON, AS YOU TRANSFORM INTO MY LIKENESS WHILE SERVING AS I SERVED.

“For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Cor.4:5

f3f71422f86f2f805cf848a3f5eaa9db.800x600x1“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Christ goal here is to place a few “peasants of Galilee” on a path or process that will allow them to make “extraordinary things happen” as He motivates and “transforms their values, into action, vision into realities, obstacles into innovations, separateness in solidarity, and risk into rewards.” (Kouzes & Posner The leadership challenge pp 2)

But it all begins with a Path or Journey Christ places each of us on. The key words is “Follow Me” meaning “conform to” or “comply with” and since He is God and God along He knows the path He places each of us on for “You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.” Psalm139:2-3 (ASV)

In addition, when Jesus calls His Children he does so with a sense of urgency that will also convict and motivate His carrying-the-crossChildren not only in achieving one’s goal but also in allowing His Spirit to transform our life in the image of the one who has motivated us to “follow Him” even to the cross.

Consistent with this, Christ must  first “create a connection with His disciples that raises our level of passion and motivation to want to transform our character as He effectively communicates His vision and path as he reassure us that He will do with His Children “as the potter does,” “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hands, Jer. 18:6 (NKJV)

as I mold your character to be humble servants which is the foundation of everything a Christian stands for along with the faith and endurance that will allow us to continue to “Follow Christ.” Paul tells us “Who, being in very nature God did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Phil. 2:6-7 (NIV)

and Christ tells us directly as He sat down, “Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 9:35 (NIV)In addition we must also tell ourselves that a child of God must be a mother-teresa-feedingparadox to anything that we would like to be that the world deems as success, because success to a Child of God has nothing to do with what we can accomplish in this world if it is not all about Christ and what our responsibility is to “our Father which art in heaven.”

Today as a “chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession,”  our Character to be like Christ is shaped by loving as Christ loved, for “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Peter also tells us in 1 Peter 4:8-10 “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” as we FOLLOW CHRIST ON THE ROAD TO THE KINGDOM”
