MY FRIENDS, WE HAVE COME THUS FAR LEANING ON THE LORD!!
Today let’s turn our attention to the children of Israel as we move back in history and scripture and become a part of the vast multitude that were slaves in Egypt 400 years. And now they are on their way to the promise land.
We have witness the miraculous parting of the red sea, the Pillars of fire guiding our every footsteps, the food of angels falling from the sky, bitter water made sweet, and water flowing from rocks after being hit by the rod of Moses.
And then we get to the entrance and not allowed to go in because our parents refused to acknowledge who God is and where He was trying to take them. So now Forty years later from when we left Egypt we have now arrived at our destination, the Promised Land.
A land that had been a shared vision since the promise was made to Abraham years before. Now we need to look at our own journey in life and how long we have been waiting on our promise land experience, while at the same time being tested and tried each day in our own wilderness experience that we call rough terrain and torrential storms.
But we must never forget “We’ve come “thus far” by faith leaning on the Lord.” Yes, “thus far by faith” is the bond that holds a child of God together, along with a passion from within that only comes from dying daily in Christ as we witness from within the miracle of transformation as we continue moving towards our destination, life eternal.
My friends, “thus far” is a yardstick of how far and hard we have come and worked to get to the place we are today and the many times we have gone around the same mountain because we have allowed Satan to occupy out attention.
But in spite of our many flaws, our faith has carried us “thus far.” But there is still unfinished work, even though “thus far” tells me we have prayed with a passion and have studied the word of God daily, we have fasted, we have visited the sick.
In addition, we have feed the homeless, and we have taken the good news of the gospel to everyone we know, and to a world marred in sin. But because of our passion and love for the one who brought us along this journey “thus far” to the thresholds of the promise land, we will continue to make the rest of this wilderness journey a joy and a pleasure.
And we will also praise God’s name with joy and holiness every day of our life because we know right after “thus far,” “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thess. 4:16-17 (KJV)
My friends, please don’t forget what a friend we have in Jesus, and He has guided our footstep every step of the way and if we will not lean on our on understanding but Gods, victory will be ours one day soon because “no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” 2 Cor. 1:20 (NIV)
My Friends, where there is no vision, the people perish…..Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)
