MY FRIENDS, GOD HAS MADE US WATCHMAN “FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS”
“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Ezekiel 3:17-18 (NKJV)
As a vessel for Christ “for such a time as this” we must make it personal and with a fire that burns within our mind and body become witnesses to the world, and to everyone we may come in contact with each day. In addition, our prayer should be Lord, everyone I witness to, may also be filled with a fire from within.
Luke tells us in Luke 24:32 when the two disciples of Christ on the road to Emmaus, realizing it was Christ they had spoken too. Said to one another “did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us on the road, and while he opened the scriptures to us?” That word burn, meaning to be set, or consumed on fire.
This is what God wants from each of his Children. If we are consumed with a burning passion to have an intimate relationship with God, then everyone we talk to, or witness to, will also feel a exhilarating burn within their heart. God has made each of us who seeks His kingdom “watchman,” “not merely to sympathize, but to give timely warning of danger to his people where none was suspected.”
“I will stand like a guard and watch. I will wait to see what the Lord will say to me.” Hab. 2:1 (ERV) and as we spend quality time in the all-consuming presence of our Savior we will study and digest the Word of the Lord, we will than realize as watcman “the LORD has anointed each [of His faithful] To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent [us] to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,……..”Isaiah 61:1-3 (KJV)
But like the Laodician church in Revelation, we as Christ chosen have also lost our significance and savor, to a dying world. Simply because we have become occupied with the things of this world and not the saving grace of the Master. In addition we have allowed the cares of this world to occupy our time instead of living our life consecrated and centered around Christ while warning the world of their impending doom.
But my friends, even as watchman, we will not be able to say “Lord, Lord” if we have not informed others of His soon return and what is required of them to meet Christ when He comes again. God’s warning to us in Ez. 8:18 (KJV) says, their “blood God will require at our hand” My friends we know the will of God and what is required.
“But that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, will be held responsible Luke 12:47 (KJV) So my friends make it personnel today. We are responsible for our own salvation if we so desire to claim it.
And if that is our desire, in heartfelt prayer and supplication we must seek a, burning passion to carry out God’s Mandate, and share His Word in truth as it is written. Colossians 3:2 tells us to “Set our affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” as we become watchman for Christ as we take the good news of our Saviors soon return to all the world.
So friends stay focused, remain faithful, love one another and endure till the end and never forget to STUDY&PRAY
