MY FRIENDS, IT’S PERSONAL WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS JUST SING THESE SEVEN SONGS!!!!

hqdefault-300x225“God sent His son, they called Him Jesus; He came to love, heal and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon, and now a empty grave proves my Savior lives! And because He lives life is worth the living!” And when  Life is easy, when I’m up on the mountain and I’ve got a peace of mind, sometimes things happen my friends, and thing change for the worse, and I lay exhausted on the field of Battle and life seems so uncertain, and the terrain is treacherous, deceptive unstable and insecure, in the valley.

But I don’t lose faith but continue to endure, for I realize I am never alone For the God on the mountain, is still the God in the valley, so when things go wrong, he’ll make them right even if  I don’t hear that still small voice. But, let it be known I am still not going to serve the god of this world.

And I can say this because ever “since I met this blessed Savior, Since He cleansed and made me whole, I will never cease to praise His name, because 60sec17He touched me, Oh He touched me, And oh the joy that floods my soul! And now “my sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more because I believe in a hill called mount Calvary I believe whatever the cost and when time has surrendered and earth is no more I’ll still cling to the old rugged cross.

And I believe that this life with its great mysteries will someday come to an end. But faith will conquer the darkness and death and will lead His faithful at last to my friend, Jesus Christ who was slain on the cross and has the power to change lives today, for He changed me completely, a new life is mine and that is why by the cross I will stay.

But, then at the threshold of the promise land, in my heart I felt the battle was still raging from within because not all prisoners of war had come home,  but I must say, these were battlefields of my own making, and then I heard that still small voice whisper to me that the war had been won and that the king of the ages Had fought all my battles for me and that victory was mine for the claiming and then I praised his name, because I was set free.

blessed-hope-jesus-return-4_n1-300x198And at that moment, I look up, The King is coming!! I just heard the trumpet sounding and now his face I see, Praise God He’s coming for me Happy faces line the hallway Those whose lives have been redeemed Broken homes that He has mended Those from prison He’s set free, Little children and the aged Hand in hand stand all aglow, who were crippled broken ruined Clad in garments white as snow.

I can hear the chariots rumble I can see the marching throng And the flurry of God’s trumpets spell the end of sin and wrong, Regal robes are now unfolding Heaven’s grandstands all in place Heaven’s choir is now assembled Start to sing Amazing Grace the King is coming, the King is coming, Praise God He’s coming for me. (The Gaither Band, He Lives, God on the Mountain, He Touched Me, It is well with my soul, I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calvary,The King Is Coming, It is finished)

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE SLAVES AND DON’T KNOW IT?

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE SLAVES AND DON’T KNOW IT?

imgres“When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it, then you will know which way to go, ….” Joshua 3:1-4 (KJV) This was the directions from Israel’s new leader Joshua, who replaced Moses in leading the Children of Israel to the promise land. He was Chosen, because he had been this way before and he knew where he was going.

So today my friends as God’s Chosen, the journey we are now traveling to the promise land stands on the other side of our trials that we must encounter as this controversy continues between Good and evil. But Christ, knows the rough terrain and the rocky roads we must travel and what delicate steps we must take to follow in His footsteps.

Christ tells us, “the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.” Rev. 3:21 (NIV) But we must believe that we can defeat Satan. But only through Christ who traveled this same journey we travel is it possible. In Luke 8:26-39 (NKJV) Christ arrived at the country of the Gerasenes.

As he stepped on land, a man who had many demons in him and lived in the tombs saw Jesus and fell down before him and shouted at the top of hisa6b98394dbcedbdae846035a59d6236b voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? “I beg you, do not torment me” for Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man who was bound and a slave to Satan ……..Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered him.

My friends, we must now ask ourselves how many times do we have to turn our back on God before Satan takes full control by making us an offer we cannot refuse which makes the things of this world look much more appealing than life eternal? And once we allow Satan to manipulate our journey we then become a slave to sin with many Legions occupying our life.

g202782_u53174_image002-300x272Remember, if we do not occupy our minds with Gods word and Spirit but only with the things of this world. Even though at one time in our life we had given our life over to Christ and served Him faithfully. If we become complacent and quit allowing God’s Spirit to transform our life through His word. We then allow self and the forces of evil to “return and when they enter our life again, they will find it swept and put in order but not occupied.

My friends, we must understand when our life is not occupied with the things above only the things of this earth. Then Satan will brings in [“Legions of demons to enter our life and dwell within us, and our life now becomes worse than the first time we allowed Christ to take control” Luke 11:23-26 (NKJV) Harriet Tubman the “African-American abolitionist, during the American Civil War, was a Union spy.

Born into slavery, Tubman rescued approximately seventy enslaved families and friends, using the network the “Underground Railroad.”  She is quoted as saying” “I freed a thousand slaves, I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.” My friends do we understand we are slaves. But Christ knows the way to freedom and life eternal if we will only “lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, Heb. 12:1 (NKJV)

MY FRIENDS, IS IT REALLY AN IMPOSSIBLE MISSION?

April 24, 2016

MY FRIENDS, IS IT REALLY AN IMPOSSIBLE MISSION?

Slider-TVGood morning My children, your mission today if you choose to accept it is, “ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” And when you do ask, if you do not receive, it is because you have asked for your own pleasures.

Remember my Children your request must be about my will, because your treasures are not of this world, your treasure awaits the faithful who have endured. So your treasures are in a place, “Eye have not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man or woman, the things which We have prepared for those who love Me and keep my commandments.” 1 Cor 2:9 (KJV) Of course the forces of evil will always try to discourage each of you from receiving your blessings.

So you must put on my entire armor and be strong in knowing where I have brought you from, and where I am leading you. And with my armor you 7b0e8964343c510ddd500efa14fd6f68-300x229will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil because it is him you wrestle against not flesh and blood, and against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore take up my whole armor, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph. 8:10-18 (NKJV) And you must continue to wear it as you go out into My harvest to seek souls for my kingdom. As always, should you or any of my children be caught or killed, your name will always be written in the book of life.

But one day you will rise from the grave because my Son died for all who believe that He died and rose from the grave. And when He descends from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: all of my faithful who died in Christ shall rise first: Then everyone which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet My Son in the air. And so you shall forever be with Him in my kingdom. 1 Thess. 4:16-17 (NKJV)

My friends, God gives us opportunities. David was given an opportunity when He was sent to the battle field to take food to His brothers. He brain-evolution-confidence-david-goliath_40276_600x450captured the opportunity to serve God and one day become king of Israel and linage to Christ. Joseph was sold into Slavery and God gave him an opportunity to serve Him. He captured the opportunity against all odds and one day become a great ruler in Egypt.

Rehab, a prostitute was given a choice and made the right one to serve God and hide Israel’s spies against all odds of her being killed along with the twelve spies. But she captured the opportunity, which allowed her to became an ancestral link to the one who gave it all for our salvation. My friends God gives us all opportunities, which are usually a “mission Impossible.”

But we must look beyond and think breathtaking and awe-inspiring as we capture all opportunities that God gives us to do something higher than what we could ever imagine was possible as we go beyond the ordinary, because all “things are possible through God.” And if we “have the faith as a grain of a mustard seed, we shall be able to say to any mountain or obstacle or any situation or circumstances, move out of the way; and it shall be remove; and nothing shall be impossible for us to achieve.” Matt. 17:20 (KJV)

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE DOING SOMETHING BREATHTAKING AND AWE-INSPIRING?

April 23, 2016

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE DOING SOMETHING BREATHTAKING AND AWE-INSPIRING?

article-2203102-1501FF12000005DC-24_634x394Abraham Lincoln had the great misfortune of being at the forefront of our nation during it’s most troubled times. Our great country had split in two between the North and South. The war had claimed the lives of many soldiers and in the midst of the war, Lincoln’s own son died. The President was then literally brought to his knees. In midweek, Lincoln did what he often did during those trying times, he found refuge at a church in Washington.

The minister opened the Scriptures and taught from God’s Word. And when he finished, the president stood quietly, and began to leave. His aide asked, “What did you think of the sermon, Mr. President?” Lincoln said, “I thought the sermon was eloquently delivered but he failed…because he did not ask of us something Great and awe-inspiring.”

In the midst of the constant death and turmoil, even Lincoln understood that when you listen to Gods voice, you should expect the Lord to call His ThroneChildren to go beyond the ordinary and do something breathtaking and awe-inspiring. Psalm 99:1-3 (KJV) tells me My “Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake. Great is the Lord in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations. Let them praise your great and awesome name he is holy.”

My friends if you have lived long enough you have probably seen it all and by the grace of God most of us have managed to survive with only minor visible scars that we have been in a war zone daily with the enemy. But my friends, before that great day of Christ return, it must become personal as we look back on where God has brought us and focus as high above as our finite minds will take us.

yuriearth_iss_900And as we look down the smaller the world below get’s until it is no longer relevant, only the presence of God which we are now seeking. Consistent with this, we realize below is a “world where every intent of the thoughts of the heart of man is evil continually.” So there is nothing we miss or want to return too. And  then, their stands the countenance of God.

And as the tears roll down our cheeks all we can say is, “Lord, how long shall the wicked exult? They pour out their arrogant words; all the evildoers boast. They crush your people, O Lord, and afflict your heritage. They kill the widow and the sojourner, and murder the fatherless….”Psalm 94:3-7 (ESV)

So then God challenges us to return and do something higher than what we ever imagine was possible. He tells us to go beyond the ordinary, He then reminds us, if you “have the faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matt. 17:20 (KJV)

The preacher Lincoln listened to that day failed to challenge His congregation. When the Israelite’s left Egypt, Exodus 19:4 (KJV) tells us God said to His chosen people, keep_moving_forward_620 “You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. But then God asks them to do something breathtaking and awe-inspiring God asks them for a commitment.

My friends, God is also asking His chosen today in the midst of “such a time as this” to do something breathtaking and awe-inspiring in His Name. He is telling us to remember, if we say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ it will move, because nothing will be impossible in God’s name.”

Every excuse we may give as the reason we cannot serve Christ, was challenged and answered at Calvary.

MY FRIENDS, WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM PRINCE’S “ANNA STESIA”?

April 22, 2016

MY FRIENDS, WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM PRINCE’S “ANNA STESIA”?
Prince-is-beautiful“Breaking News” The world is mourning the death of someone we call a musical genius, his last concert was a first-ever solo show at Paisley Park, his home compound in suburban Minnesota, it was no simple, straightforward affair. The 57-year-old funk-pop wizard approached the performance as a challenge, an opportunity to prove that he could deliver a full Prince concert, without much of anything we usually expect from one of his shows.

Just, as the show’s official title put it, only his “Piano & a Microphone.” And a lot of Prince. One of his last songs he sung on stage with just his Piano & a Microphone.” And a lot of Prince” was called “Anna Stesia” I went to the Internet in an attempt to find out who was “Anna Stesia” and someone was asking the question “I really don’t get Anna Stesia can someone explain it”?

Well my friends, I would never try to understand a man with a life as complicated as Prince, but what I will give you is my take on His song “Anna Stesia” but not as others who have no hope or say “I really don’t get “Anna Stesia” can someone explain it?” but as a Child of God whose “citizenship is in heaven and eagerly await our Savior’s soon appearing.

My friends, It’s not for me to judge how a man lives his life or how he dies, but the lyrics to Prince’s “Anna Stesia,” I think It gives us just a small546036-79586 portion of what his relationship was with his God. So now it becomes personal, as we decide what the words tells us about our on personal relationship with God; “Maybe, maybe, maybe I could learn to love If I was just closer to something’ Closer to your higher self.

I don’t know Closer to heaven (Maybe) closer to God (closer to God) Save me Jesus, I’ve been a fool How could I forget that you are the rule. You are my God, I am Your child. From now on, for you I shall be wild I shall be quick I shall be strong I’ll tell Your story, no matter how long (no matter how… no matter) We’re just a play in Your master plan Now, my Lord I understand (I understand) Love is God, God is love Girls and boys love God above.”

A headline read “Prince gets personal.” Prince Rogers Nelson, “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, grew up a Seventh-day Adventist and then converted to Jehovah witness. But my friends, the church, God, His word and Spirit, Jesus Christ, life, death, religion, hope, faith, grace, love, mercy, the kingdom of God and life eternal should not be completed subjects.

And it seems that Prince Rogers Nelson may have understood that when he stated “We’re just a play in Your master plan Now, my Lord I understand” But the Part in most of our lives that becomes complicated is when we begin to listen to that other voice that has told himself or anyone else that will Prince-playing-piano-jpglisten, “I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” Is. 14:14 (NIV)

And that is when a name change takes place in our lives to the Prodigal Son or daughter. Prodigal meaning a person who spends, his or her time, talents and  money not within God’s plan but on self and the one “who wants “to be like the most high.” My friends, it’s now very personal, because if you take nothing away from Prince Rogers Nelson’s life, take away the fact that you will never sorrow as those who have no hope.

Or say in your heart “I really don’t get “Anna Stesia,” remember my friends, the name of the song is not the lesson we should learn from the song, but the words that say, “I’ll tell Your story,” “Now, my Lord I understand (I understand) Love is God, God is love Girls and boys love God above”

MY FRIENDS, WHY DO WE CONTINUE TO ASK, WHEN IS CHRIST SECOND COMING?”

April 21, 2016

MY FRIENDS, WHY DO WE CONTINUE TO ASK, WHEN IS CHRIST SECOND COMING?”

storm“…..“Let not your heart be troubled; if you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I [now] go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Then Thomas the doubter ask “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Then Jesus answers the question. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Then Phillip becomes concerned and ask “Lord, show us the Father, and [that will be] sufficient for us.”

Then Jesus answers Him “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how canCP00477e you say, ‘Show us the Father’? John 14:1-9 (NKJV) My friends, do we doubt as the disciples when we ask, is Christ second coming near. Remember, Christ has told us in Matt. 24, “the sun will be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall.

He also prophesied of; wars and rumors of wars, and nations rising up against nation, and kingdoms against kingdoms. In addition, famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places and the many false prophets that will deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” And then, this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

And His warning continues for all doubters, “as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matt. 24:38 (NKJV) April 15, 1912 the Titanic Departs from Belfast headed to America with 2,233 souls on board, disaster strikes, 1,530 were lost 713 survived.

imgresYou had the first class who consisted of the rich and aristocracy of society. in second class you have those who had achieved success and money through work, people in trades such a miners, teachers and clerks. In third class you have poor families immigrating to the United States. In addition, you had 900 crew members.

So the ranged of passengers went from the richest to the poorest with a wide array of reasons why each took this particular voyage. In addition, the ship was designed so that the various social and economic classes never had to meet nor mix while on board. My friends Let’s make it personal and look at our own salvation because at the end of the day there will only be those who are lost and those who will be saved.

In addition, there will be no economic cultural or gender distinctions between the lost and saved, only those whose robes have been washed in the blood of Christ and can look back and tell our story of how we got over as we enter “that place eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”1 Cor. 2:9 (KJV)

MY FRIENDS, AT THE END OF THIS SUNSET, WHAT WILL OUR REWARD BE?

April 20, 2016

MY FRIENDS, AT THE END OF THIS SUNSET, WHAT WILL OUR REWARD BE?

brain-evolution-confidence-david-goliath_40276_600x450“This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”…… Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck Goliath the Philistine killing him.

Victory with only a sling and a stone. A boy after God’s own heart at the time, not quite a man. My friends, we must have the faith of a mustard seed before we can become a man or woman after Gods own heart and then we will be able to say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you or I. Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) Earlier Goliath the giant stood on top of a mountain and threatened king Saul and the other Israelite’s.

“Oh ye of little faith” should have known nothing is impossible through God. But this uncircumcised Philistine was allowed; to “defy the armies of Quotes-Life--Dare-to-be-different--24182Israel and their God crying out; who do you have to defeat the great and powerful Goliath, bring them out. When Saul and all Israel heard these words, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.” If only they knew God and what He will do for all those who seeks His presence daily.

My friends, I ‘m not here to talk about how much faith you may or may not have. But what I need all of us to focus on today as we make it personal, are the words and warning from Christ Himself in  Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV) “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” And now, think about the narrative in 1 Samuel 17 where you have the Philistine army and there Giant Goliath on one side. On the other side you have king Saul and His entire army of veteran soldiers in God’s army. And David who was in the middle of them both. Now its his time to cry out.

maxresdefault“You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” My friends only one out of thousands knew who God was and had  allowed His life to be transformed into His Image becoming the only man in God’s word who is referred to as a man after God’s own heart.

Only one seeked God’s presence daily. Only one stayed on that narrow road and found his way to life eternal. My friends, the bible is given to us as a road-map for our journey here on this earth. I can’t say how many on the battle field that day gave their lives to God. But what I can say, if we placed 1 Samuel 17 into the 21st century which one of us would be able to separate ourselves from this world.

And who will be able to stand in the middle and represent God in all situations and circumstances of our life and at the end of one sunset and the beginning of an eternal one, when Christ brings “His reward with him, and gives to each person according to what they have done.” where will we stand.

MY FRIENDS, ONE DAY WE WILL SING A NEW SONG EVEN THE ANGELS CAN’T SING!!!!

April 18, 2016

MY FRIENDS, ONE DAY WE WILL SING A NEW SONG EVEN THE ANGELS  CAN’T SING!!!!

5a5739be8cb391fa5a9a7ded479de312As we approach the final days of this life’s history there will be a sharp contrast from a child of God and those who follow the forces of evil who have become lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power.” 2 Timothy 3:4-5 (NKJV) But as a Child of God in these last days, our testimony comes from John 22:26-40 (KJV)

And as Christ disciples for “such a time as this” We now ask “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Christ responds! My friends, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind……And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself……” So now our friend has spoken to us directly and along the way on this journey He has placed us on, we now have become the “salt of the earth” and the fruits of the Spirit will be our legacy.

One that says that we are kindhearted, loving, joyful, compassionate, and humble. All attributes that we acquired once we decided to take the focus offimages of self and what we want, and placed it onto Christ and others and now our cross becomes only a joy to bear because that cross represents our love for Christ and our love for all who Christ has died for and once our finite minds have captured that moment and realize that it will never be about us again, we then take God’s message of love to the world.

And soon, Christ will tell us personally, well done my good and faithful friend. And I can only imagine we then begin to sing a song we have never sung before, but one that has always been a-part of our life. One that the angels are not even allowed to sing, only those that “were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold……. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV)

And we can sing it because we are the Elect Christ spoke of in Matt. 24, those who have “come out of great tribulation, and have washed [our] robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Rev. 7:17 (KJV) And then we begin to sing that “new song, in front of the One that was slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. (Revelation 5:9-10 (KJV)

maxresdefault (1)But “How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land?” Psalm 137:4 (KJV) The steadfast love of the Lord [will] never cease; and [new songs will] never come to an end; they are new every morning; [throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.] great is the faithfulness of the one who made it all possible.” So my friends Darkness will fall [until that day], “And tears will come. But in God’s word is promised to us, tears are for cleansing.

For our tears are only stress and relief created by God just to give us release. So don’t be afraid to cry. He see’s our tears. He hears our prayers. And on that day He enters those clouds, our mourning, He’ll turn to dancing.” (R. Smallwood) Remember, The pain of this world, this to will pass, and our day will coming” and one day our Savior will wipe away all of our tears as we sing our new song. Hallelujah my friends, Hallelujah!!!!

MY FRIENDS “THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US.” NOW WHAT?

April 17, 2016

MY FRIENDS “THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US.” NOW WHAT?

First_Book_of_Samuel_Chapter_10-2_(Bible_Illustrations_by_Sweet_Media)My friends, our God has promised to work and act on behalf of His children who believe and endure, if we will only remove the foreign gods from among us and direct our hearts to the Lord and serve Him, and Him only. A narrative is told in Samuel 7, before Israel had a king, when God was there only ruler and judges were appointed by God to speak on His behalf.

Samuel was God’s appointed judge during this time, but the people had turned their backs on God and decided to do their own thing. Sounds like His children in the 21st century where Satan has us thinking we really don’t need God anymore because we have everything we have ever needed or wanted out of life. The Bible paints the Philistines as Israel’s main enemy during this time.

They were always in a state of perpetual war with Israel. But today, let’s take our focus back, three hundred years earlier when Israel first entered the 31118_000_028_05“promise land” and God’s commissioned to Joshua was, “Be strong and courageous, for you will take the Israelite’s to the land I have promised them, and I will be with you.” Deut. 31:23 (NET) So if that is God’s promise, why does Israel have an enemy that is always in a state of perpetual war with them.

My friends, God knows His Children and He also knows us in Deut. 31:16-17 (NET) when Moses is about to die, God tells Moses “these people will begin to prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land into which they are going. They will reject me and break my covenant that I have made with them…….and I will abandon them and hide my face from them.” So let’s make it personal today and ask, have we prostituted ourselves to the foreign gods of this land?

But God is a good God “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you return to the Lord with all your heart, and remove the foreign gods…….and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him only; He will rescue you from the hand of the Philistines.” And so Israel obeyed, and directed their hearts to the Lord.

Then Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him. and the Philistines were defeated that day. Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” My friends “Thus far the Lord has helped us” also but have we remove the foreign gods from among us and directed our hearts to the Lord and served Him” and Him only.

1679017-bigthumbnailToday God is knocking at the doors of our heart, but we can only hear His voice and know His will for our life if we are “devoted to the glory of God and the advancement of his kingdom.” Remember, we cannot serve two masters “either we will hate the one and love the other, or else we will be loyal to the one and despise the other.” Like 16:13 (NKJV)

My friends, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” So are we willing to remove our foreign gods and give God our all, meaning our time, talents, and money? And are we willing to be His disciple and take up our cross and follow him wherever He may lead? And are we willing to die to self and live our life totally in Christ? “In this world we have no continuing city, but we [should only seek the one to come, as we give God all the praise glory and honor that He deserves]….Heb. 13:14-15 (NKJV)”

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE CHILDREN OF GOD AND OUTLIER’S?

April 16, 2016

MY FRIENDS, ARE WE CHILDREN OF GOD AND OUTLIER’S?

1485ac9ecffOutlier, by definition is something or someone that lies outside the main body or group that it is a part of, as a cow far from the rest of the herd, or a distant island belonging to a cluster of islands. Or a child of God that is in the world but not part of the world. Everyone is going to the club tonight, I’m sure it will be all right, I want be drinking like the rest of my friends I’ll will be with. Of course I will have to order a sprite or a coke, so I want feel so out of place.

But Paul  tells us in Rom 12:1-2 (AMP) Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind.

[While only focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and imgres2acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].” My friends now we have to make it personal because it is your personal decision to be set apart, and to be unique in character.

But, it is also our decision to be influenced by the god of this world and allow his “superficial values and customs to influence us as we become “tossed back and forth by the waves [of this world], and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful [and] scheming [ways].” Eph. 4:14 (NIV)

My friends, as a child of God, we must daily allow our Character to be “transformed and progressively changed as we mature spiritually.” And when we decide to give it all to Christ and become His disciple and take up our cross and follow Him wherever He leads, is the day we become an “Outlier” and decide that we just don’t need “things,” that this world feels we need or should have in order to conform.

Slide62Remember we are a “chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession,” 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) because we “lie outside the main body or group” and we no longer conform to this world, or the things in it. “On that day [at Christ soon appearing] many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’

And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” Matt 7:22-23 (ESV) How is that possible? We did everything that we thought was required to enter the kingdom of God. My friends, Sometimes it is not just about serving, but developing that personal relationship with God as we allow His Spirit to transform our character and “guide us in all truth and understanding.”

And then the world will only see “Men, and women who will not be bought or sold; men and women who in their inmost souls are true and honest; who do not fear to call sin by its right name; whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.” (E.G. White quote)
